Buccaneer :
Other than the odd shark mouth I can’t recall seeing nose art on aircraft during peace time but it’s good to see it on an ETPS / RAE red white and blue one!
Yesterday at 1645 as I was driving about 2 miles north of A34 on A303 a Chinook flew over heading east at easily less than 200 foot :applause:
I can assure you it was the USAF flying the B-52s, Went down to see them at the time and the only English voice I heard were mine and the other spotters! Why anyone would believe they were lent to the R.A.F. is beyond me.

:eagerness:
Does it have an MOT? 🙂
I’ll tell you what, if it comes with a full MoT I’ll give you the asking price!
Tomorrow….
I’m sure i could photoshop some…
sorry for the thread drift…:eagerness:
:applause:
Meanwhile, just so we are clear about the source of the RAF / B52 rubbish

Moggy
Thanks Moggy, I knew a few USAF Buffs flew out of Fairford during GW1 but was interested in the wording of the article implying they were at least flown by RAF crews or even as RAF aircraft hence hoping for pictures with RAF markings.
I guess I’ll just have to make do with the RAF B17 pictures, unless Rat Acc has any pictures of F117s with RAF roundels…?

I have always been a big fan of the Tornado GR1. The GR4 just about cuts it but the Tonkas in desert pink in ’91 simply rocked!
If my memory serves, the RAFM Hendon have one of his uniforms on display.
How long after WW2 was it before the Germans were ok about displaying the aircraft etc from the war?
Picture 4 is stunning! :eagerness:
I believe a Lancaster (didn’t see it only heard it) has just flown over Boscombe Down heading east closely followed by a single seat aircraft presume either Spitfire or Hurricane just a fraction too far away to see clearly, can anybody confirm?
I’ve just watched a helicopter as it flew away from me heading east wearing the red, white and blue ETPS livery that its rear quarter very strongly resembled the Mil-8s from a short while ago!
😮
A railway line used to run in to Boscombe Down (Amesbury Branch Line), does anybody have any pictures or information?
Its Hunter XF375 .
Are you sure? I mean the local media are always very thorough when they report on stories in ensuring they are factually correct. :stupid:
