… and of course, there was the mighty Mil V-12…..

Wow, the Russians just seem to like doing things that bit bigger than the West…! 😮

Have the Russians ever developed a twin rotor helicopter similar to the Chinook? I know there have been several designs with contra-rotating co-axial rotors but I can’t ever recall seeing anything along the lines of the venerable Chinook, but would like to… 😎

I thought they had all firmly landed for good some time ago. Does one still operate from Boscombe?

It was only 4 hours before I posted, my mind really couldn’t have been playing tricks could it…. :-/

A few flying at Boscombe Down this morning, a couple of Tutors doing formation flying, an ETPS Gazelle did a couple of circuits, a Jaguar landed and a Chinook flew in and joined the two already parked outside the Rotary Wing hangar in the middle of the airfield.

I know this is probably lazy of me not to check for myself but why was black and white chosen for the undersides of the aircraft, surely this is the most easily seen colour scheme to wear?

Will any F-35s be at Boscombe Down for systems checks etc as Voyager currently is?

S.H. Pete, bet the HGV driver was a woman:D
Have you noticed just how many female HGV lorry drivers there are driving around?.Surprisingly, very many.
    Jim.

I’m a truck driver and the route I did today was done yesterday by a female driver from a local agency. The look of disappointment when I arrived at my three store drops today was rather obvious and I soon found out why, the lady yesterday was young and sexy.

    Pah, women drivers :diablo:

Took our little man (17 months) to get his feet measured for his first ‘proper’ pair of shoes 😀
The assistant took a photo of him wearing his new shoes for the certificate they gave us but Jack wouldn’t stay still and it took about 5 minutes and plety of attempts before we got a good enough picture! :p

But he looks a pleased as punch in it.

I saw on the front cover of this months Airforces Monthly an article saying that there is serious thoughts to the FAA getting new F18’s instead of F35s due to cost and time issues.
Any chance of this happening realistically or just journalist fishing for a story?

Me too Paul, although the wife persuaded me to not to have my original idea of ‘F**k Off Pikey Chavs’ stuck on our front door. :dev2:
