I’ve probably got photos of this at my parents house taken at the Boscombe Down air show in 1990 but as my parents live 35 miles away these will have to do instead.
I have always thought aircraft looked their best in raspberry ripple 😎

Everyone keeps saying its tosh things like this never happen.
It just goes to show how the political mind works when the Falklands got
invaded last time a certain very senior Female politician said ” Of Course we will
send down our carriers with their Phantoms to sort them out “
The Response “We got rid of them 5 years ago Prime Minister !!!!”
That’s OK, this won’t happen again this time.
No need for Phantoms, we’ll just send the Harriers down on our carriers to sort them out…..

Last day at work 2011, now I’ve got 9 days to fill.
Odd jobs, bits and pieces or….

I’ve just looked on Google Earth and Street View is showing her with the red white and blue rudder so it seems as if I totally missed it. I guess driving a 15 ton truck does mean your attention can only be given briefly to aircraft parked on the fence line!
Are there still a few Sea Harriers kept in good nick at Shawbury? I wonder if Art Nallis could be persuaded to part with his for a month or two…
There are also the recently retired, taxiable Jags at Cranwell to consider…
I can’t see what would be wrong with a squdron of these coming in at zero feet to tell the Argies to keep off!

Driving on the A30 past Blackbushe earlier and saw the large number of civvie aircraft parked up but one really stood out, Bulldog XX300 proudly wearing her blue belt.

The pictures I found on Airliners show her with a red white and blue rudder which I can’t recall seeing today, does she still have it or is it a more standard colour?
I think several Harriers are being sent over discretely to the Falklands from Southampton docks…
No doubt heading stateside as we’ve sold them off (cheap) to the US Marines
Of course, I was sure I saw ‘Value‘ stickers on them and thought I was seeing things but….
Is it just me (well, Google) but there don’t seem to be any Noahs in the aviation world. Obviously there is one that is quite well known in the Maritime world….
Were there any Tornado F3s based in Scotland, especially during The Cold War?
At Southampton Docks, gate 4, berth 43 I saw 3 pairs of Harrier GR7/9 wings awaiting loading. No idea who for or where but I image they will be off to the big fusalage in the sky… 🙁
