Sorry, I didn’t realise the RAF were in Libya (yet).
I was speaking with a friend who works for Quinetiq with ETPS and he was saying how the Tornado (actually all RAF) fleet was so overworked on deployments that all bar one of the Tornado’s at Boscombe have been stripped of spares in order to keep the operational aircraft flying! 😮
Who else will have their Tornados stripped now an extra 4 are being sent to Afghanistan?

I thought it was a good little Air Day, I did think the barn storming was a bit cheesy but The Red Arrows perfectly precise display more than made up for this!
I saw ‘558 at Yeovilton today, fantastic it was too! 😀
She was sat on the south side of the airfield for several hours until her display slot where she taxied, took off and wowed the crowd with her show before landing and parking up at one end of the crowd line for closer views from audience.

At about 18.10 as I came over Beacon Hill I saw a Herc doing touch and goes at Boscombe. Is this aircraft a new permanent resident or occasional visitor?
Thanks for the links.
The Puma could really be classed as both Historic and Mod Mil, the aircraft is 30 – 40 years old but it is still in service. :p
After watching this episode I have decided I want an old E Type as my next car and I don’t think it’ll take much to persuade the wife…! 😀

I went to the Boscombe Down fun day yesterday and took a couple of pictures of the aircraft of the Aviation Collection, http://boscombedownaviationcollection.co.uk/
Surprisingly I haven’t seen one of these myself yet but friend did a few days ago, surplus Sea Kings are being scrapped at Boscombe Down (in old OEU Hangar?), arriving on the back of an artic’.
As the cost of developing and producing an effective aircraft generally rules out the UK going it alone, which Euro country would be our best partner?
