What is the yellow aircraft in the second set of pictures?
If times have changed such to not permit the word being used, what of it?
Even only 10-15 years ago what words could be used in a film deemed suitable for all would be much stricter that what could be used today. If it is such a big deal then rate the film as an 18 or at worst a 15A and let the audience make up their own mind!
I saw an old Russian 2 seat initial training aircraft doing circuits at Boscombe Down at 1145 today. I’m pretty sure I read it’s reg as G-BAXK but on searching for this I could only find a balloon with this reg so I’m a little unsure as to exactly which model it was (I’m thinking a Yak?).
Would it be prohibitively expensive to produce 2 versions of this film, US and Europe, Digger and *igger?
As Stephen Fry has spent a considerable amount of time travelling through America I think he is perfectly placed to make this decision and, like inkworm, I believe Fry would rather have ensured complete historical accuracy and used the correct term.
I still can’t wait to see the finished article! 😀
I don’t know I think this thread was a good way for everybody to let off steam!
Remember we have a year of this to go😉
:eek::(
What a useless thread..
Agreed!
Some motorcyclists who feel the need to spend 20 – 30 seconds revving their bike’s engine loudly when they first start the bike up at 10.30pm in a small cul-de-sac! 😡

I’m still smiling after knocking 8 minutes 26 seconds off my 3 mile run in 7 days! 😀

Yeah, and you try telling people that there WERE fat kids twenty years ago, it’s like they’ve forgotten..
I was never fat as a kid, just too heavy for my height! :rolleyes:
An old friend, WP.
Nearly 20 years on it looks as good as I remember waddling along the apron before climbing aboard! 😀
According to http://www.raf.mod.uk/equipment/vc10.cfm only 101 Sqn fly VC-10 in RAF.
Its undoubtedly the example created by the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection.
Today in the local monthly publication it stated under Local Council News;
* Councillors were asked for their comments on the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection moving to Old Sarum. It was considered unfortunate that the scheme could not remain in Amesbury, but there was nowhere suitable for it to be housed. Old Sarum would be the right place to be for the Great Stones Way project.
