It was ZZ190, one of HHA’s hunters that are on contract to the Mod.
See here.

I spoke to Mr ATC a couple of days ago and he corrected me too. 😮
I would guess almost certainly it was flying from Boscombe but I’m not aware of any Hunters they’ve got there. I realise what is now G-ETPS was based there when with ETPS, could it not be reintroducing itself there?
I spoke to somebody I know who works at air traffic at Boscombe and he told me it was one of the aircraft from Hunter Flying Club so it could well have been XE601.

Saw this on Wednesday afternoon, approx. 15:45, just north of Andover heading in the general direction of Salisbury Plain, using much the same path as the rest of the military stuff that heads that way.
Was it something to do with the military or what?
Apologies for the low quality, by the time I responded it had got a little way away and I only had the small lens. I think the shape is fairly obvious though!John

In the fifth shot down showing the black Hawk, I love the tail roundel visible on the Hawk on the left!
Cracking pics but I do have two questions, why are some painted green and others grey and what is that protrusion on the first pic behind the roundel on the aircrafts rear fusalage?
In picture 2 showing the Chinook, is that a Harvard in the background and if so which one?
I thought LL was an export model for the Welsh Air Force….!?
I’ve just had a look at the pictures and it seems as if they are doing a fantastic job with it, keep up the good work!
I do have a question regarding the Hurricanes rear framework seen in the last two pictures. I have always been under the impression that the Hurricane was constructed of wood covered in fabric but the framework visible appears to be metal. Is this a modern touch to offer increased safety and a longer life to the airframe or a clever use of silver/grey paint?
Will one be saved for a museum (Middle Wallop)?
Anyway should this Pheonix be allowed to rise from the ashes?
They’ve just opened an extension to the museum there so I can’t see why not!
Yesterday on the way to Basingstoke I spotted a large Russian biplane with a radial engine parked at Popham Airfield. Can anybody shed any light as to exactly what it was and why it was there?
Tristar and/or VC-10?
How about the Hawker Hunter, obiously after they sorted out the problems with range, ejected ammunition striking fusalage, the airbrake causing marked pitch change, the canopy icing and fogging during rapid decents and the engine flameouts!
Anybody Know anything about this ?
The Germans are coming, don’t panic Mr Mainwarring!
I’d given up watching a long time before that!
Me too, I was hoping for a good quality docu-drama instead I was fed absolute drivel and human interest stories.
PAH!
