According to Wikipedia;
Neither the M-4 nor the 3M ever saw combat, and none were ever converted for low altitude attack, as many American B-52s were, nor were any ever exported to the Soviet Union’s allies.
Why do you think it needs replacement ??
I wouls have thought that no matter how well maintained each aircraft is 25 years regular useage would have meant it would be more cost effective to replace rather than continually maintain an airfame.
No, I am not an engineer although this is probably quite obvious! 😮
With the RAF Hawk passing its 25th year in service are there any plans to replace it and if so what with?
Sorry if this is a bone question!
Do they not have any ground running jets at Brooklands?
I’ve just tried on their website, http://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/ but wasn’t able to find anything but with the history and restoration there I would have thought they’ve got something.
Did 231 see any service out in the Gulf in ’91 during Desert Storm?
I think the best war movie I’ve seen in recent years would have to be SP Ryan because of the way the film tries to focus on the individual soldiers and the emotions they are struggling to cope with.
Another favourite of mine for similer reasons is Kubricks Full Metal Jacket.
But then you have the classics of Battle Of Britain and Dambusters which I think will be loved by viewers of each generation for many years to come.
Why are there 3 RAF/ex RAF airfields within 3 miles of each other, Trebelzue, St Mawgan and St Eval in this part of Cornwall?
It seems to be a case of overkill as I can’t see why these could not all have been merged into one.
Have any airframes served under two different serials or once an airframe has a serial it there for life?
How does copyright protection work on TV?
Every day thousands of people tape programmes and films off their television either to watch once later or to keep for longer, at the end of the credits on 99% of these programmes it has the copyright information.
How can these possibly be enforced? If any person who does not live at the address sees a programme this would surely mean it is a ‘public broadcast’ and so therefore the owner of the house is breaking copyright law.
What about kids sat around listening to music on a hi-fi?
I could go on but face it, we are all law breakers!

So what happens when a car drives past with its radio on and a window/sunroof open?
I can listen to that so surely the driver deserves reprimanding….

Listening in on scanners to ATC is totally illegal in the UK.
The law is universally ignored.
Listen away 🙂
Moggy
I thought it was legal to listen but illegal to transmit if not operating an aircraft and thus blocking the airwaves.
Can only be the Spitfire XVI TB752.
Especially when I was sat in her.
Although, sorry to say, I still think the Hurricane is better! :p

The MiG-31 is too much a specialized, single role aircraft for any modern air force – even the Russian’s today.
Why would you purchase and attempt to maintain such an expensive single-rolled aircraft, when you could purchase and operate the likes of the powerful and multi-rolled ‘Flanker’ – series of aircraft!Pioneer
Sounds very much like the Tornado F3! Given that both aircraft were designed to do the same job which would have done the job better?
