I believe the US and Israel has reestablished the firewalls that are meant to keep US tech from leaking out. That was one of the prime conditions for Israel to be allowed back into the F-35 program. If those firewalls are deemed OK for export grade JSFs, they should be OK for export grade Raptors. If Israel can guarantee those firewalls, with the penalty of being b!tch slapped if they dont, then there should be no problems with the IDFAF operating the F-22.

A sub’s main ballast tanks and trim tanks are designed for the weight and size of the sub. If one welds a plug in section, those tanks will need to be suitably resized. What happens if there isn’t any more room to resize the tanks? Also, the motor and gear reduction system is optimized for the weight of the sub, what happens when a few hundred more tons are added along with meters of lenght? Well, the motor will have to work harder to achieve the same speeds as before the refit. Outcome? Needing to either (a) revamp the electricals of the sub so that the motor isn’t prematurely burnt out or (b) insert a new motor.

This doesn’t even begin to cover the fact that due to motor working hard, the battery life will be deminished. Which means that the number of batteries will need to be increased. What if there isn’t any more space to increase the batteriers and to increase the ballasting? Well, you just got yourself a sub that is subobtimal in endurance and suboptimal in handling. Congradumalations.

So when did LCA started supercruising ???

It might be just a notional supercruise ability, meaning only in clean config and at altitude. IOW, not combat supercruise and not at all altitudes.

Either way, the pic does not show the LCA in supersonic flight, it’s in transonic flight. If it was supersonic, the conical compressed wave front would be behind the aircraft and not on it. While that wave front is in contact with the aircraft, it’s considered to be in the transonic flight regime, which has its own handling pecularities.

Dont think its supersonic , I dont see the A/B there , Just passing through some cloud hence the effects.

What makes you think that the LCA needs AB to go SS in clean config?

Isn’t it a tactic for fighting a defensive war, one in which most of your fixed assets have been knocked out? Analogous to guerrila warfare on land. At most, it will buy you and your allies some time but the homeland airspace is pretty much dominated by OPFOR.

We only choose to imagine the obvious connections like companies giving away tech. No one this day and age “gives” away their tech. Sell? Maybe. Codevelop? Very likely. But give it away? That too, core competence technologies? It’s like asking LM to depart with its RCS predicting softwares used in F-22/35 design optimizations. In other words, one will have to pry it out of their cold dead hands. Why would other companies would willy nilly give away their core competence. I can understand giving away free vacations or free cars to “lobby” congressmen but no company gives away their core competency for something as fickle as congressmen’s loyalties.

NG makes the APG-80 and Raytheon makes the APG-79, which one “gave” their AESA technologies to the Israelis? Keep in mind that these two radars are pretty much creme de la creme of the respective companies’ avionics suite.

So, you’re saying that Raytheon might have deliberately gave away ATFLIR technologies to the Israelis so that the Israelis could compete with Raytheon’s ATFLIR with the Litening II?

Do not realize how crazy that sounds?

What explains the US throwing a fit when the Korean E-X program was won by IAI-Gulfstream Phalcon over the Boeing Wedgetail? The Israelis are in direct competition with the Americans. Also, notice that Israel also won Turkish competitions to upgrade US made tanks. Israel also recently won a Polish order for IED jammers. In all these instances, the Israeli companies beat out American companies. With the small potatoes stuff, the US is willing to live with it but with the Phalcon winning over the Wedgetail, enough toes were stepped on to warrant a response.

Well, if you are willing to persuade me that current Israeli developments are not just a follow-on technology gained from the US, you can go on.. You have every right to have your own opinion.

Influenced? Sure, why not? The way you make it sound is that the Israelis are just rebadging US stuff with IAI/ELTA labels on them. That is clearly not the case.

What is more believable – that a country with some 6.5 mil citizens is able to outtrick, develop and mass-produce technologies that the whole European Union is battling with?

The problem might not be the 6.5 million people, rather, maybe you give the EU more credit than you ought?

It is interesting to note that Egypt gets nearly the same amount of mil aid from the US as Israel (part of the Camp David Accords) yet it hardly has any mil-tech development base of its own. Obviously, the Israelis weren’t happy with just taking the aid, they used the money saved by the aid to develop their own industries.

It doesn’t make any sense for the US to give its tech away. The US has shown that it is very selfish when it comes to their techs, then why would it just give it away to potential competitors? Why would the US with one hand give tech away to the Israelis but at the same time try to stunt their mil-tech base, eg. Lavi? Flex, what you are saying is so contradictory to empirical evidence and common sense, it’s almost a raving rant. Not to mention anything about the total lack of evidence on your part…

I think the question should be are there any Chinese moderators on this forum? My guess is no.

Isn’t/Wasn’t Google a mod? Don’t see him around much often. One of the genuinely nice guys on this forum.

I can retort, if there is no paranoia, why does the CCP/govt put limit on the kind of information that its citizens can access?
