    Hi all

I would be grateful if anyone can advise a method by which the original factory Spitfire test pilot flew a particular aircraft can be traced. There are three Spitfires I am researching and would really like to know who did the origianl flight test at Castle Bromwich

    Any thoughts much appreciated!

I seem to recall that Alex Henshaw in his autobiography “(A) Sigh For a Merlin” named his fellow Test Pilots at CBAF. Unfortunately lent out my copy and never returned. Hope this helps.

    1950’s / 1960’s Archive Part 36: Liverpool 1964

Thanks DCW for posting these photos, I remember most of these aircraft and have fond memories of flying in G-ANAE from Blackpool to Woolsington and return in either early 1962 or ’63 on a school trip to Swan Hunter Shipyard on Tyneside. The schedule of the aircraft carried onto Dusseldorf from Newcastle and returned in the evening. Anyone have any idea if the hulk of ‘NAE still survives in Aden?

    Colin.
