good news, though i had heard abt it last year when i had met one of the quality isp guys ….. he replied to my querry that the PBGM after activating can lay there for nearly 340 days …. well i am not sure though, as he was rather very confusing in his talk.
and the first hanger plan that i created. This one was with the widest possible dimension that i cud sketch …. and i guess some area wud fall out of the lower deck (though not sure) or maybe its just on the edge.
And again….all these are just my speculative plans and the original thing cud differ very much ….. I hope some one over here have the original Gorshkov’s hanger plan and the lower decks plan so as to make out a better plan …..
BTW its just 3 more years wait …
The last series comes with the ‘deafult’ extended length and the enlarged elevator including the VL area
7th one –
– with normal lenght
– Aft elevator enlarged (including the Klinok VL area)
8th one –
– with lenghthened hanger
– Aft elevator enlarged (including the Klinok VL area)
Om now with the ‘default’ extra length given to the aft section of the hanger
Fifth one –
– normal hanger length
– aft elevator enlarged (excluding the Klinok VL area)
Sixth one –
– extended length for hanger in the forward section.
– aft elevator enlarged (excluding the Klinok VL area)
The next series comes with the aft section of the hanger lengthend (or maybe its the original length) as default, as from this picture it seems like the rear section of the hanger is a bit more than what it might look from the top.
Next series come with the aft hanger further enlarged to take in the Klinok area too. I don know if thats possible, but since its been said that aft elevator is to be enlarged, the possiblity cud also include this ‘vaccant’ area which earlier was occupied by Klinok VLS.
Third one –
– with normal lenght
– Aft elevator enlarged (including the Klinok VL area)
Fourth One
– with lenghthened hanger
– Aft elevator enlarged (including the Klinok VL area)
It may also be possible that this VL area is retained for AD missiles or maybe even stationing PJ-10 , as has been speculated. So the elevator enlargment maynot extend this much.
Hi Guys….. just did some of my speculative work of the Gorshkov’s hanger ….. let me put the first of the series …
First one –
– with normal length
– aft elevator enlarged (excluding the Klinok VL area)
Second one –
– extended length for hanger in the forward section.
– aft elevator enlarged (excluding the Klinok VL area)
Points taken into account –
1) the aft hanger has been enlarged
2) the partol boats etc etc in the aft section on both sides, coz of which I’ve not extened the sides in any of the hanger plan.
Don’t know the exact story behind this all, but it is well possible that without the Italian funds the Yak-130 / M-346 would never have been born at all.. As long as Yak gets its orders from RusAF and other potential customers, it is a win-win for both sides.
This situation is nothing new, the same was happening with South Vietnam or Pakistan ordering B-57 instead of British Canberra, Shorts Tucano receiving orders from Kenya and Kuwait instead of the original EMB-312, or T-6A Texan II beating PC-9s in Canada and Greece.
yeah……. its nothing new, but in this age of patents, IPR etc etc…. its the Russians who is losing like this design, coz of finance difficulty and on the other front, Israel making bugs out of every single Russian stuffs ….
Its was the Yakolev design and the Russians unfortunately had to do the deal coz of finances and what they lost was their design and the emergence of a good competing desin (their own design in other brand name)
So I don think it was a win-win situation….. but rather its the Russians who lost their product ……
So again … the Russians loosing their own product to someone else and them see it compete with the original..
its really bad….. The Russians shud have done it properly so that the Italians did not walk away with their design and brand it as their own and make good amt.
And definetely, as of now, the M-346 is the best out their in terms of performance and looks (an area where the Yak-130 laged)
I hope Greeks change their mind and rather work with the Russians and develope the Yak-130 for their needs, that wud have been fine and fair.
I guess that you did’nt read Sunday’s Hindu newspaper? Admiral Arun prakash officially confirmed that the ship was going to be INS Vikramaditya. No more “gorshkov” from now on. He also confirmed that the current crew of the Viraat will be going to the new carrier. The latter is great news because the current crew and captain of the Viraat are a truely fantastic bunch.
This sundays??…… well i guess i missed it …. so was it an interview or what?
so that lays to rest the name for the carrier. Good.
intresting and gr8 news tooo…. after all French can’t go the British line for their defence ….
BTW any spec on the current M45 missiles and the M51?? ..like range and guidance and payload …
the new one seems good on reducing rcs, but I’d have loed to see the Ivan class to get these features with a larger helo capacity (minimum 10) in addition to the troops capacity …
And are these submarines for Israel coming FREE??? …… they managed to get the German tax-payers pay for the earlier 3 subs ….
Gorshkov also had that extra 5 m length of flight deck and the island structure too differed which rest of the ships did not have.
and a small stuff from me…..
so back again……. here some enlarged pic of the Gorshy pic …. hope u guys enjoy …..
Austin,
can u plzz check if these guys (FORCE) have got any other CG image of the model ….. whatever it is finally it took Force to create a wonderful pic of the Gorshkov…
Harry,
can u plzz repoen the thread u locked??
