This is the latest figure from the beriev site, and the a/c featured there is different from what they earlier used to feature.. the pic shows a antenna in 3 piece confguration which might be implying to the fact that the new Russian made A-50E might be using 3-piece configuration of phased arrays or any other …..

but no amount of detailed info is given ….

probably old ones undergoing some modification..don know what work, but an engine change cud be the best bet as Stage III had cost the Russian civil airliners and makers very much coz of the engine makers …but now they have got 3 makers offering all their latest ones which meet the Stage II and now redying in for the Stage IV …. they were caught napping when the clever guys introduced it in 94 (or 95?) ….. plzz do correct the year if I am wrong …

and scenes from the Ulianovsk Aircraft Plant where Tu-204 are built … not very bright and flashy as many wud expect from a/c builders, but they do their jod well w/o any fault ……. just remember that dialouges from the ‘Lady’s Man’ moview ….. when that chap comes with a bochae of flowers …. and says something like this ….. “these flowers look and feel very plastic, but its specially meant for you” is what that one says to that cute one …. i love that very innocent and beautiful dialouge and its almost byheart …..

…. the Russian facilities and a/c – especially the paint scheme – dont appeal much, but they would do their job like any other one does, pretty well ….

I guess that short landing gear wont be a problem , but if I am not wrong the ATR-XX-500 family dont any lengthier lending gears …. but anyway I don expect the runway to have potholes either ….. and the most worrisome thing for short height a/c being that – all the waste picked up by the front wheels getting thrown into the engine and for the Tu-334 they simply don need to worry abt these as the engines are higher up in the rear , where as I think for an ERJ-190 (it seem like) it might cause probs when operating from poorly maintained airports ….

and some more pictures of the TNT’s cargo …… they operate 2 of these Tu-204C …I don know if they have got more or not, but would surely love to see more, and again the best colours any Tu-204 has got…… reflecting the true beauty of the aircraft ……. Russians need to learn a lot as to how to paint their a/c too…. see for instance how they presented the Tu-204-300 ….with damn dull colours , even seeing that anyone wud turn away from the a/c..where as u seee the Embraer ERJ-190…. they came with dashing paintjob that ….it looks sooooo beautiful in that paint scheme….

    so here goes the TNT’s Tu-204C, enjoy …. 🙂

A Mirage 2000 crashed last month after the aircraft reportedly lost its nose wheel in mid-flight.

Several British-designed Jaguars crashed in quick succession earlier this year.

India’s ageing MiG-21s have an appalling safety record – more than 30 have crashed in the past 18 months alone.

In March, India ordered 66 Hawk jet trainers aircraft from Britain. 😀 😀 :diablo:

yup finally at the END of thie grrrrrrrr8 STORY they did not forgot to SPELL OUT THE REMEDY ……..hmmmmmmmm , Y not a channel which carry scarsely any military related deals in their report carried a 10-15 minute discussion with experts on ‘Aisa Today’ when the deal was signed ….. enlightning the ignorant minds as to how much the British solution is needed for the sub-continent nation to save their polits and to get the soviet evil out of the once crown jewel.

Is India stuck with a Turkey?

well i wont call it as a turkey, but yes was a bad deal, u can say political and diplomatic complusions…after all what do think that British Premier and other always reminds of the permanent seat in the UNSC? ….. and Yup IAF’s future AJTs are gonna be a twin-engined AJT and not a Hawk successor … one more thing being that IAF did not had the money to go in like the LKI – funding and developing- the MiG-AT or the Yak-130 and also wanted which was ready, which all made the Hawk get-in, but still i am not very happy abt that….. $1.8 billion for 55 Jets and the first batch to arrive only by 2007 ….. hmmm

and that will answer ur question as to y the Yak-130 and Mig-AT are better than any other AJTs around now …..

In the above pictures, first two are Tu-204-100, Tu-204C and the Cairo Air’s Tu-204-120

    abt the Tu-334,

RSK-MiG will be building 130 of these for a market forecast of 350 (again inside Russia) by 2015. —– again the RSk-MiG facility is the most modern facility as of now, is what RSK-MiG says —- The unit price of the Tu-334 is to be about $18-20 Million, and they expect to break-even by the 48th frame. In March last year (?) or before that the manufacturer began construction on a new 135,000-sq-ft final assembly hall at its LAPIK plant in Lukhovitsy, outside Moscow. This facility will allow RSK MiG to build 20 Tu-334s a year.

Though Aeroflot is a sure and big customer, the second largest airline – St Petersberg based Pulkovo Airlines has committed for 20 x Tu-334s as replacement for its 11 x Tu-134. The Tu-334 was intended as a replacement for the Tu-134. The launch customer for the Tu-334 is Russia’s Atlant-Soyuz, who have signed a letter of intend for 5 x Tu-334s which will be delivered shortly. Don’t don much ….

But there is lot more these Tu-334 can do , can give a good competition to the ERJ-170 (Tu-324, not yet happened) and new ERJ-190, FD 728 JET, A318 and others and give a good run for their money ….

and a few more for the Tu-334, in a sense it can be called a Tu-204 family as it share the fuselage dimensions (diameter) with its bigger brother Tu-204 but looking more chubbier …. below are some more pictures …. with Tu-134 which the Tu-334s wud be replacing, 3 by 3 seating arrangement (the front section), the cockpit and also sharing moments with Tu-204 Cargo ….
