I set up this thread initially because I was angry that a great singer was kicked out (Moderator – sorry for the bad language, thanks for correcting it). But after reading everyones comments, especially PMN’s, and what’s being said on TV this morning, I have now come to terms with it and that it is just a show. It’s very easy to get lost in these programs but that is just what they are, entertainment programs. PMN has made some interesting comments and obviously speaks from experience.

Lucie will be a star I am sure of it and you don’t have to win the show to be a success. Look at ‘JLS’.

Let’s see who gets kicked off next week.

I’ve suspected that for a few weeks now. He had it in his power tonight to get rid of the twins but he took a gamble. Or was he tipped off??

Great set of photo’s, would be great to see more of Biggin in those days.

Thanks for the comments. It would be great to see some even earlier ones. But I have some more and as soon as I can get my hands on a slide copier i’ll post some more. I have some nice gnat arrows shots (but then who hasn’t).

    edit …more BH79 pics here

Now this is why I suggested we have a new forum for old airshow pics in the ‘airshow’ section. I’d never have found those BH airshow shots in the ‘Historic Aviation’ forum. Are there any more old airshow pictures anywhere else on this site??

I suppose not really. I just think it would be nicer to have them in related threads (by display or location for example). Seeing as we don’t get many airshow pictures this time of year, the forum is not too busy. Perhaps if others want to add their own pics they could do it on a seperate thread. Just a thought.

go on, air your collection of 35mm slides too, I’m sure they’d be appreciated

I have started posting my slides. Have a look at the thread ‘Biggin Hill 1973’. More to follow soon.

When I fished out this photo for this thread, I too thought they looked very low. I don’t ever remember them going into the valley but I’m sure they use to fly lower in those days.

I remember that show well and that was only a part of the flypast. There were even more than that.
