The AWG-9 was supposedly able to track 24 targets in TWS mode. That was a pure lie, which persists to these days.
The much more capable and modern digital APG-70, in F-14D, was capable of 10 targets track in TWS mode.!!!
My god you are lost.
AWG-9 Detect-track up to 24 targets with displaying of 18 and actively tracking 6.
APG-10 tracks 10. How the f… is that lower that 6?
Anyway you live in a bubble of you own fantasy.
I propose to have this locked and you banned.
Can someone put him out of his own misery?:dev2:
And yet a little old F-16 managed it. :diablo:
Does Iranian F-5E count? AFAIK was gun kill 🙂
It’s worth reminding ourselves that the Yak-Aermacchi thing is essentially based on the Russian’s trainer lineage, not the other way around.
Sorry to ask… but what Russian trainer lineage? In that class Warshaw pact had for decades Czech plane L-29 and L-39.
So you still have to explain, where the difference in fuel economy comes from?
F-111 = 5,66 l per km
Su-24 = 7,41 l per kmFrom every l of fuel a F-111 generates 30,9% more range!
Lower drag? More efficient Wing design? Just better aerodynamics?
Any choice but Gripen screams of corruption and backhanders – not unknown in Romania. It is the only fighter that Romania needs and there is/was an option of producing it (partially at least) locally at Aviaone Craiova.
Did you actually bothered to check the trails of scandals that follow ANY military acquisition (including Gripen)?
so they’re getting 24 brand new F-16 Blk 50/52s and 24 second hand F-16 Blk 25s that will be upgraded? how many Lancers does Romania operate and look to replace with these fighters ? I feel that the Gripen C/D would be a better option for Romania than crash prone F-16s. was’nt the Gripen also in the race for their fighter replacement?
Do you have numbers for that crash prone planes?
AFAIK F-16 is one of the most build planes and that imply most flown plane.
But then again nothing can match the safety record of IAF Mig-21’s or German AF F-104 😡
Last line in that PDF…
This notice of a potential sale is required by law; it does not mean that the sale has been concluded.
Discussion about sale of F-16’s is 4 years old. Very odd thing is the request for Lightening pods… Things that RoAF already has.. And there is no mention of weapons.
20000000000 South African Rand = 2,944,493,356 US Dollar at 1/1/2008 exchange rate.
So the piece per unit is more than 100 Mil  ?
No klubs in Iran though.;)
point is how do you sneak a Iranian Kilo close to Israel ..
Poles are pefect Europeans when it comes to gaining winnings from that. But as long as it comes to duties, well… *Errr, what European Union do you have in mind? Never heard of it..*
Well you can say that about almost all Eu countries.
… which the rest of the world is already seeking to replace… 😎
Anyway, it is obvious that people like Dranio only think in narrow perspective. What is the best in short-term for Poland and the rest of the Europe be screwed. And if it means spending the assets in USA while shamelessly harvesting the funds from EU programmes, then so be it.
It is not bureaucracy and complexness, but this small scale thinking that causes so much problems with the EU.
You just don’t get it… no EU funds are used in military programs… When EU gives funds, they follow the track of progress…
Regarding the replacing of F-16…really?? The rest of the world try to replace the older version still flying around … F-16 still have life in it and it will be around for some time more… even in USAF… F35 production is still far-far away
Ridiculous thinking, the Gripen has already been integrated with most of the listed weapons and the others could be done with very little effort. The Gripen is no less interoperable than the F-16.
3 out of the bat that where not … 9X, JDAM, JSOW and not likkely to be ever integrated.
would have satisfied both Europe and the US provided all the interoperability
Who ever cares about Europe’s satisfaction??? Never happened… EU is not a federation with a political union… Is economic mumbo-jumbo… defense is pretty much each country own decision..
Righ now EU is deep **** due to excessive burocracy… Did you ever seen the offer for Gripen was in case of Poland tender? It was more expensive that F-16.. More money for less capability… Not to mention that poland would had to shoop for weapons in other place since they don’t came with same packege…
Su-24s flying at low level on the ingress route over Iraqi Kurdistan and Syria would make it. Time their arrival on target with a shower of ballistic missiles and a number of Hezbollah/IRGC commandos infiltrating from southern Lebanon, yes it could be a strong first strike.
Without Israel noticing anything?
With all the plehora of sensor planes surveying Irak area?
Doubtfull… but not impossible.. :dev2:
Poland requested a wide range of air-to-ground weapons, NATO datalinks, navigation, EW, reconnaissance etc. suites. We bought 22 AN/AAQ-33 Pantera targeting pods, AN/ALQ-212(v)4 EW suites for 20 aircraft, seven Goodrich DB-110 reconnaissance pods and a large (still classified, so no details) number of AIM-120C-5 and AIM-9X AAMs, AGM-154C JSOW, JDAM, AGM-65G2 Maverick, GBU-12 Paveway II and GBU-24 Paveway III munitions.
They did acquire a **** load of weapons.
And nothing secret about that.
