Might I just say…
Last time I flew LHR to Singapore with BA, there was a massive backlog in T4 Check-in. As a result we actually got to the check-in desk around 25mins AFTER the alloted time of closure.
But we STILL asked if we wanted window seats.
When your 14, I suppose a window is the “Holy Grail”, but in all realism (esp’ on Long Haul) the coveted Ailse Seat is the one you want. As any of us “Older” flyers will tell you. 😉
Michael.
Thanks for sharing the Chiang Mai scenery tip. 🙂
24MB… No Problem!!! 😀

Flying Tigers.
Are Freighters allowed?
Oh…
And Braniff.
Stunning..!!!
I live just up the road from Hannants.
Spent many an afternoon walking around in there.
They’ll definitely have what you seek.
It’s a massive place. 🙂
great shots mate loveing the dc-10
Surely you mean KC-10. 😉
When I was a lad, spotting at LHR there used to be numerous F-27 flights per day. So I shouldn’t say F-50’s are rare, as the other guys have already stated.
I can also remember when the aircraft crossing to the BA maint’ area was completely OPEN, not even a fence. All there used to be was a small security hut!!!
AND you used to be able to spot from the Car Park roofs, AND the Queens Buliding AND…
OK, Rant over.
How things change… 🙁
How long before we can spot it on Google Earth…? 😀
Aerolineas Argentinas?
But surely an Argentine A320 wouldn’t have the range for Gatwick. 😉
and here she is with engines!
Where’s the BIG yellow nosewheel gone then? 😀
Interesting nose wheel arrangement. 😀
Colours… Yuk.!
Excellent info here. Thanks Tom (and others).
Any chance of making this tread “Sticky”, so we can easily find it again later?
Maybe a “Flying Tips” subforum?
On returning from Singapore…
Landing from the west, on 09 (not sure which L or R).
The pilot… “Ladies and Gentlemen, I’d just like to take the oppurtunity to thank you for flying BA, we hope you’ve had a nice flight. etc…”.
Then he went on to say…
“It’s not our usual policy at British Airways to give out traffic information, but those of you planning on travelling West, in the direction of Windsor, will be in for a long journey, as the M25 is backed up for a number of miles.” 😀 😀 😀
And, for info, Aero Spacelines had another project on the drawing boards… A WAY larger Guppy, based on the B-52 !
But why?
When the 747’s Bigger, Better Payload, More Efficient, More Economical…
