I wonder if they also looked at 2 large turbofans mounted at the rear.
I have no idea about the subject but I always imagined that having two clean wings would reduce fuel burn.
Just a pity these days we cannot have the beautifuly integrated engines inside the wings like the DH Comet. Alas, engines are too big these days.

I understand some Soviet airliners were designed to land on grass strips.
I remember reading that the TU154 was.

Seen it so many times. Other passengers have even told me,you can take your seatbelt off now.Is it your first flight?
I say no thats why I keep it on having been on more than 1,000 flights.
If it was safe the pilots would take theirs off.

A big surprise to me that good old traveller’s cheques are still around.
I thought they were finished with.
In the good old day’s Thomas Cook and American Express were the favourites.
These days you just put the debit or credit card in the bankomat and out pops the local currency at lower cost.

    Steve,
I remember Ansett famously made a similar statement about their cabin crew.

    Steve,
If you come back to Newcastle or Leeds, you may still fly on Ansett equipment.
Once flew from Sidney to I think it was Hong Kong with Ansett on a 762.
I was in business class and they actually had a chef on board with the full outfit and tall white hat to boot.
    Happy times.

I think the Tories would like more people to travel by train to the London airports moving more wealth to the south.

Happened before, not only on Airbus but other types.
If this mistake can happen, then it will happen.
