It was a “black sell” during the last years of Kuchma period. Apparently China acquired 10 Kh-55 and Iran 2 or 3. It was a brief scandal between U.S, Ukraine and Russia.
I don’t understand the Iranian weapons development plan. It seems they are dispersing resources on many projects with relatively low punch. It is not wiser try to clone the Kh-55 acquired from Ukraine and after that develop a land based launcher? That will have far more range and punch than this toy.

Very unlikely. They still seem to be in service, and 280+ were probably never in service to be fired (many were probably cannibalized for parts). According to ACIG they also shot around 60 Iraqi aircraft in the process. Even if this number may be exaggerated, it probably shot a heck of a lot of planes.
Living in the parallel universe. 😀
But they are coming. Likely 12+ by year-end.
I wonder if the 31BM’s ‘new’ radar is the Bars with the new antenna?
Is not the Zaslon antenna bigger than the Bars one?
I will love to see the Zaslon-M antenna with the Irbis power output. :diablo:
There is no way the N001V (being mechanically steered) to be better than Bars. The scanned volume may be comparable but the data refresh rate will be much-much-much lower and the accuracy worse. The N001V might have more powerful processors but this cannot overcome limitations given by a mechanical scan compared with an electronically one. That’s enough to make the Su-30MKI better. True, the Su-27SM may have a better ECCM suite but as a whole is inferior to the MKI.
Sorry for the off-topic
The Su-35C is still a fourth-generation fighter, what has caught up with the Eurocanards or the SH. 😎
Caught up or surpassed? I will definitively not gamble on the SH side in a Su-35S vs SH contest. :p
The Eurocanards have definitively better chances than the SH.
Kh-101 is an awesome weapon. A Tu-22M3 loaded with this weapon departing from Vladivostok may hit Australia and a Tu-160 departing from there across the Pacific Ocean may hit Argentina.
As per SALT treaty they removed the refueling probe of Tu-22M to prevent it from getting the intercontinental range.
AFAIK having a 5000 km range cruise missile does not violate any treaty
Yes, but gets intercontinental range.
The upgraded version of Tu-22M3 is capable of carrying four Kh-101 missiles
Whith the 5000 km range, the Tu-22M3 becomes a strategic bomber. I mean it can hit the CONUS. Is that a violation os START treaties?
There is technical data available on the “Zaslon-M” (or whatever the name) on the radar on the modernized MiG-31-BM?
What SAM? Buk? 9M96?
The Ks-172 is in service? Evidence please.
It seems the system is a S-300PMU1

The Tiflis airport will not be a comfortable place to land or take-off.
I’m gonna throw another one into the wind:
I don’t know about this obsession with calling “intake geometry” < S-ducts > … but it needs to stop.
I think MOST people here still feel that the T-50 intake geometry is DESIGNED to LIMIT reflection. Not necessary eliminate it. No it’s not a full “S” bend, but it’s not straight either. Angles matter – or so everyone here cries, all day. Elimination will be done with the badass blocker they have planned. The one that Kapedani could design better!
100% agreed. Call it banana-duct. Consider also the engine is not co-axial with the duct.
