It looks more like this..
So, rather than a “Raptorsky”, PAK-FA is a sort of “Aurorasky”.:D
There is a third interin option: convert he two remaining Thyphoon class to carry Sineva until Bulava works.
Interesting S-400 Infographic, Austin π
Now a few questions. S-400 can launch 48N6E (200 km reach) missiles. Supposedly they are retrofitted from S-300 PMU2 systems, right? First batteries were deployed with 48N6DM (250 km reach) missiles and now that 40N6 (400 km reach) have completed tests; it should be assumed that they will supersede 48N6DM. So far everything OK. But β¦ the info note that 9M96E and 9M96E2 are part of the system. So far we have no news on testing and/or deployment of these missiles with the system. It should be assumed that they will later be added?
I think they are the most important missiles of the system for the anti-CM and anti-PGM task.
Russia has completed preliminary testing of a long-term interceptor missile for the advanced S-400 missile-defense system, the chief of the Almaz-Antei design bureau said on Wednesday
It seems that the 40N6 is finally near deployment.
It was not entirely clear how the new missile would be different from the one currently used in the S-400 Triumf system.
Will 40N6 be one of the missiles of the S-500 system?
How much lighter could Yasen be? It’s an SSGN, submerged weight looks higher than Akula II.
AFAIK
Akula Displacement: 5700 tn (surf) and 7500-9500 tn (sub)
Yasen Displacement: 5800 tn (surf) and 8200-3800 (sub)
Sev seems slightly heavier. Data change according sources. The Wiki claims “Though smaller than the older Akula class submarines, the Graney class will have more firepower per its complement”.
So, is heavier but slimmer, since the length is practically identical. My opinion is that Graney class is the RIGTH design to replace all Russian SSN (i.e. Victor-III, all Akula classes, Sierra and Oscar-II) except, off course boomers. Coastal sub warfare can be conducted by conventional subs, i.e. Kilo and Lada.
More on the Bulava
Reform of the Ru. Armed forces data:

Distiller, very interesting news. We know that work on the modernization of the A-135 radar and super-computers systems was on way. Maybe these works have been completed.
I’m excited to see how many other PAK FA saga episodes we have to see before we finally see the real thing.
I bet 2 more.
Feel free to gamble on the issue. π
Bulava doesn’t work but the good old Topol is working flawlessly.
http://en.rian.ru/russia/20091210/157187972.html
So, obviously Topol and Bulava doesn’t have much in common.
So perhaps there was no Bulava launch at all
Just dennying the failure. Not credible.
Well looking at the way they are persistant about it , they will make sure Bulava suceeds even if it means 10 more test to suceed.
The 3rd stage seems to be the very interesting stage and has suceeded only once.
May be but the fault source is inconsistent. Seem that the missile have faults everywhere. A bad design or very bad quality issues. The thing seems to be always problematic, even if sometimes deployed.
Why not start up the Akula design again, the boat is clearly what the navy needs for SSBN production, the new Seveodvisnk is to big and expensive for such a role, whateer happened with the new 6000t design?
Severodvisnk is lighter than Akula and Akula-II. It is considered by some standards as an “Akula-III”
Loks like the russian nay does not think about hat he futrue fleet will be like if construction speed is going to slo. Thes should allocate more money fra other progams and launch several boats of frigates size real soon. The ones still sailing are in desperate need for maintenaince and uprages. This will take up alle the big construcin halls,
Get the latest surface combatat in and upgrade with sensors , communicatios and weapons for next class and they will be good to go in about 10 ears more. The Udaloy/Sovremmeny, Slava stil has poential, but i am araid they lack good firecontroll-systems and would not be able to work good as a force.
I agree here.
Russia to start 5th generation fighter tests in 2010 – deputy PM
Delayed again. Time n+1. π‘
F-111. Long range matters for Australia.
In addition Russia will not up the ICBM production from the current level of 6-11 ICBM/year to i.e. 20-30 ICBM/year. It canβt do this. The big β?β is the number of MIRVed RS-24 and the number of warheads it carry. Nothing dramatic at all.
