Some news, almost 100% reliable (but as always – not definitely ), PAK-FA will have circular nozzles , the aerodynamics scheme is “conventional”
What means “conventional” here? Like the Flanker scheme?
May be but, … too much money, I think. Furthermore, they will need the system crew already trained because Israelis will get very nervous if all systems are fully deployed. May be they will try a pre-emptive strike before the S-300 full deployment that will made any strike a bloody mess.
An old but insightful book on BMD. Very interesting:

Not really, they always react this way. The issue is that Iran’s AD network is a joke and Israel would face little difficulty penetrating it. Whilst the S-300 may not be invincible it would seriously complicate matters.
I also agree here. The Israeli air-force can deal with a few S-300 batteries, even if the crew is appropriately trained. Nevertheless and quite likely that such batteries will increase the attrition threshold for an Israeli incursion.
This story comes round every few months. I will believe when there is actual evidence.
I agree. Nevertheless the Israelis seem to be quasy-hysterical this time. I can’t understand this. After all, they claim to have developed decoys able to fool S-300 systems.
Meteorit is a failed and outdated design, and has been partially de-classified.
Brahmos-2 or whatever it will be called is not based on Meteorit technologies.
So, as far I see, the alternatives are:
1- Start the joint design and development of a brand-new hypersonic missile.
2- Try to get the BrahMos scramjeting. This in turn will mean strong s redesign.
3- Another possibility?
Dolgoruky to start sea trials soon:
It will be interesting to know more data on the BrahMos-2. Perhaps, as Yakhont was used as a base to develop the BrahMos, Meteorit will be used as a platform to develop the BrahMos-2. :dev2:
JSF on IAC is like my dream. Probably will not happen, then again depends on the evolution of Indo US relationship and like Scooter said it makes more sense to the STOBAR IAC than the migs or hornet.
Why not? F-35 should be the replacement of Mig-21; Mig-29 (any type) and Jaguar. Nice to see it on the Vikram.
“Big” land-based fighters the MKI and later the PAK-FA MKI. So, in the end the IAF should have just 3 types.
Actually, not really – they are even less expensive to operate and maintain as any given Delta. Their fate was (almost) sealed due to political and economic reasons, and because some of the crucial components (i.e. the missiles) were not produced anymore, without any replacement possible.
The most expensive subs in the maintenance and operation sense are the Oscars.
So, as many here suspected, the Typhoons were “killed” mostly when the Bark was cancelled, and the main motivation was political because MITT was able to perform a great “moving influences” work.
So, RSM55, in the end, it seems that build a brand new Borei is cheaper than converting a Typhoon, right?
I wonder how many Kh-555 one could squeeze into a Typhoon
No less than 100:diablo: The Typhoon eructing cruise missiles will be an awesome monster.
On further Bulava tests. No Bulava for Typhoons. 🙁
I remember an article claiming that inert ballasts were attached into the fuel-section in order to keep unchanged thing like the gravity center and so on. I don’t know how reliable such an affirmation is.
