Ordered a 1/48 scale model of the SU-22M-4 Fitter K (primarily because I thought it looked quite capable and businesslike), and was curious as to this type’s history and capabilities. How successful were the swing-wing Fitters?

There we bombarding at Nadarzyce (polish range) and dumb bombs from su-22m4 were falling within radius of 50 meters. Two polish pilots over the radio asked for more precise measurement (to become convinced which pilot is the best). It turned out that best “missed’ his target 10 meters.

In `89 canadian F/a-18s visited Pila (polish base). Weather was not good. Group in the force of 12 Su-22 flew to the same range and bombered it as late canadians described it with surgically cuts. The same F/A-18 pilots said that they not flying over range in such weather.

Of course this show only one aspect of Su-22 capabilities.
