Cptn Ruet IS an operational pilot, and YES they CAN and DO it since they have to practice good and bad weather demos (higher g loads).
Is it really that difficult to get the point that I’m talking about routine training operations at the squadron level and not about a selected airforce pilot presenting his aircraft to the public?
This is obviously not sustained G loads.
Certainly not. What I repeatedly said is that I have my doubts that operational pilots pull 11g on a regualre (or routine) base. This very pilot has done so during his airshow routines, that doesn’t mean that every MN/AdA Rafale pilot is pulling 11g with ease on a regulare base and this has nothing to do with the aircraft, but the pilot.
I can’t back this up with proof, but I know from reliable sources that more than 9/10G are/were already achieved by M2000. These planes landed safely, the mechanics did their job (mostly to verify no harm was done), and they fly again. So we all can presume the pilots were fine too.
No need to prove it, I believe you. It’s common practise that in the case of “over-g” an inspection is done and if nothing is found the aircraft is cleared to fly again.
The device we call “accéléro-compteurs” is the reliable source I’m talking about.
We call it Beschleunigungsgeber. Usually quite reliable, though I had seen errors where spikes occured up to -13g, though the recorded stick position said something else and it was not reported by the crew, but by the recording system.
It’s also a known fact that Rafale pilots can sustain high G tempos for quite some time compared to other platforms. I seem to recall having read something about that some times ago, but I don’t remember where…
Well the Rafale uses the means of side controls and seat inclination with its pilots wearing conventional anti-g trousers. This is certainly going to help the pilot consuming this loads and with proper training and body techniques it’s quite possible to sustain a high g-load (8-9) for some time or possibly take a peak value higher than that. There are examples of Phantoms and Kfirs pulling 10+ g (I mean to remember 14 g at one incident with some type). Of course it is possible, what I doubt is that Rafale pilots “routinely” fly at 11 g as implied.
The “evil man” has claimed now that according to his sources Typhoons and Rafales were fighting along and against each other on red and blue sides. BTW he also said there were no dogfights between these aircraft, which complies with what the french said that “it didn’t went beyond the merge” and that they had lowered their generic missile range after the first encounter.
These images appear not to be taken at the ATLC and it might well be that these are from the 2007 DACT between MN Rafales and AMI Typhoons as HME said.

What’s surprising to me is that no one here seems to even waste a second to think about the pilot. Who can guarantee that the pilot doesn’t black out at such g-loads, even if they are peak values. That the aircraft poses this option is fine, but if the pilot can’t take it it’s not of much use. As 9 g is already a stretch limit for a human I doubt that Rafale pilots routinely pull 11 g as claimed by some on the base of an airshow demo where this was done.
Assuming Eruofighter can and did strenghten the T2 structure without any weight increase is what you do and a very good example of what you allege others do.
I have never done it, but you keep repeating this lie you lay it in my mouth and accuse me for saying it. If I have said it show us the post, otherwise shut up. I won’t tolerate any of your unfounded lies and accusations about my person anymore! The next such invented lie will be reported by me from now on.
The problem you have with me is that you know too litlle about it and canot bring yourslef to blame your own person for this, as for me i know what i know and am always ready to provide with evidences of what i say.
Ah yes you know better what kind of problem I have with you, than I do:rolleyes:
And what you keep alleging MISTER is that people did draw conclusions from the post before i did just right now.:dev2:
You have done so before under a different ID, don’t try to kid us you are as recogniseable as a nuclear explosion right in front of someone.
A little teasing for all your denial and trolling is only deserved expecially because as opposed to the usual you helped serving us for years, WE have serious, named and reputable sources to show.
For someone who is quite often whining about others taking on him and not his arguments you are quite offensive ressorting to personal attacks as soon as you lost ground. What a lame double standard.
And NO the photo was not coming from check six as you said.
I have found it there, don’t you have better things to do than nitpicking on completely meaningless points?
Have a nice X-Mas btw a Mirage 2000 HUD scoring a kill on the second best after F-22 looks a little desordely by modern standards.
Fine for that M2k driver.
Sure!
Of course you denigrate the bit where he said he beats the Typhoon in three turns while carrying two external tanks.
That’s a “small” difference too and the reason why you blow your top at people “conclusions”.
Reality? = 7/1. :diablo:
That’s what I said at the very beginning of the thread, so no I’m not denigrating anything mister.
That’s what I said in post 14 in this very thread:
I know someone who claimed vaste superiority of the Rafale due a single comment from “Benco” you interviewed at LeBourget, because it took him three turns to gain the advantage with a Rafale M loaded with 2 ETs.
Your turn mister.
Typhoon and Gripen were offered at roughly the same prices in Austria.
Typhoon has several technical advantages, and normally Gripen has a cost advantage. Without that cost advantage it became difficult for Austria to select Gripen.
Of course, looking at the Typhoons they are flying and the lack of equipment they got, they should have chosen Gripen in any case :diablo:
I’m well aware as I have tracked the Austrian Abfangjägerausschreibung since ~2000, even before the Eurofighter was included.
The lack of equipment is owed to Austrian politics as those bean counters intended to save some money after not being able to cancel the deal as promised to their electors, based on the fact that their initiated investigation ended up with no evidence for bribery to justify cancelation of the contract by law. So the Austrian MoD messed up that deal, the winner at least in the mid term is the Luftwaffe which now receives more aircraft from T2 while exchanging paritially used ones against brand new ones.
What we can believe is that you interpret and report falsly what was said by Banco. Granted.
Really? The following was reported by Arthuro:
Other “scoop” concerning the rafale vs typhoon…This MN pilot already downed a typhoon with a two supersonic drop tank config (for the rafale) in a simulated gun dogfight. It took him three turns to take the advantage.
So he didn’ felt that there was a big gap of performance between the two aircrafts in this area. He admitted that the outcome could have bee different as there is always a part of luck in this type of engagement but he insisted that both aircraft are quite similar for dog fighting skills
And this was said by me:
I personally don’t believe that there is a big difference between the Rafale and the Typhoon in terms of dogfighting performance and the statement from “Benco” and that of the JG 74 guys seems to confirm just that.
So now comes you and show us, how I have misinterpreted and falsly reported what Benco has said.
.Germany forced Austria to buy 18 planes which was reduced to 15 and the Saudis bought 72 planes in a very very controversial deal , I dont want to discuss the details !!! but you can imagine.
Lol Germany forced Austria to buy the Typhoon? The aircraft was selected 4:1 over the Gripen and that was confirmed a couple of times when the opposition requested a reassessment.
Plenty of reasons for this .. First and by far the most important is the bad marketing and the initial complacency on the part of Dassault they seemed to have forgotten the cold war was over and the good old days were gone when all the countries trying to buy from an independent source ( France was the only country ) were waiting in line to get Mirage fighters..Dassault obviously doesn’t possess Lockeed’s and General Dynamics marketing brilliance ..Rafale lost out against third Gen US fighters mostly on pure political grounds. The problem is that Rafale is hugely underestimated especially its future upgrade capabilities . Imagine the RAFALE with AESA in about two years time with 9 tons engines.
The Rafale in 2012 will out-accelerate, out-turn, out-climb everything bar the F-22 in all flight regimes …
And you believe that just the Rafale ever lost out on political grounds and bad marketing? Quite naive.
I agree, this is why i put it only as hypothesis. I didn’t say there MUST be a problem. It is quite impressive, because of the difference in thrust.
Well the outcome of such gun fights is determined on a lot of things which aren’t related to the platform itself. Pilot skills, tactics, SA etc. What is interesting is that IF the Rafale HuD shots are from the UAE then one wonders why how the “they killed them BVR and it didn’t come to the merge” can’t be seen as contradictional. I personally don’t believe that there is a big difference between the Rafale and the Typhoon in terms of dogfighting performance and the statement from “Benco” and that of the JG 74 guys seems to confirm just that.
Switzerland is planing to buy 33 fighters with a limited ,maximum budget of 1,3 billion Euros.. So how many Rafales can they buy with todays prices??
not even half of the required number. You see the evaluation is not everything. Besides , in Switzerland when it comes to spending taxpayers money, people go to polls to decide and the latest opinion poll puts the opponents slightly in the lead so I read it somewhere short while ago.
The Swiss has realised that it can’t affort 33 aircraft with the allocated budget, neither type! It is now down to ~20 aircraft.
I am starting to believe that the 1) the French pilot was very good and/or 2) that the Typhoon has issues with instantaneous turn rate.
Why must it be a problem with ITR? There were countless examples in history when a supposely superior aircraft was “killed” by a supposely inferior type. That happens no one is undefeatable.
