PW IV comes with P1E so it depends on when P1E will enter the frontline. It looks like aircraft with the new hardware of P1E A are close to be ready (awaiting final clearances). Thus deliveries may occur on schedule later this year.
Wrt the Indian offer there aren’t many details known, so CFTs could be part, optional or not.
As was to be expected with the SRP 14 as stated in another article (I think in AFM as well) and PW IV integration is part of CP210 and has long been contracted with trials being pretty much advanced if not ready by now.
The Turkish story is still curious from “we only want the F-35” to “we have reservations about the F-35”. A permanent forth and back if you will. I don’t think that Turkey will opt for the Typhoon in the end, but who knows. Previous offers made were quite generous with partnership status and up to 5 bln € of offsets for the Turkish industry. Whether that’s still being offered is yet another question.
Well as all batch 2s were delivered with OSF and B316 was a batch 2 example and the crash occurred before any batch 3 was delivered (thus no pull of from a batch 2 and put on a batch 3) I think it’s pretty much likely that the aircraft was fitted with OSF.
But what about the Rafale M? its delta wing sweep is pretty deep. what’s its landing speed in comparison?
Minimum approach speed of the Rafale is 120 kts.

What one can do is to dig out what the components are or can be on both systems . Then , one can try to understand the technology at hand and the “hows” and “whys” behind the concept . It took me few years to get enough doc (and I still find some from time to time) and now , my mind is made up.
I think your mind has been made long ago and that prevents you from looking at things from different perspectives. You don’t look out for information about the Typhoon because you are interested in it, you look just for things which may speak for the Rafale and match your desired superiority of your favourite aircraft.
The combo Rafale-Spectra is a one of its kind concept . In fact , Rafale without Spectra is unthinkable and Spectra doen ‘t work on another aircraft .
As DASS is tied to the Typhoon, being part of the weapons system concept from the outset to provide protection and add to the passive surveillance and situational awareness of the aircraft. To cut it short, it is meaningless and doesn’t prove anything.
MiG-29? F-15? F-35? NO! Not everyone, some do it. And as said take a look at images they tell you more than assertions. The outboard missiles have in fact an unrestricted view within their +/-90° FOV as far as the fuselage permits it, but that’s also a problem for wingtip mounted AAMs.
Take a closer look at the outboard missile fit on the Typhoon before you start “assuming” that its FOV is oh so much restricted by its close to, but not on the wingtip position. :rolleyes:
On a mechanical radar , each “train-pulse” is using the same frequency . Same with a PESA radar , but the “frequency jumping” after each “train” is much faster . The power used to send the “train” is also more flexible with a Pesa.
Would you be so kind to explain us what impact the PESA front end has on the TWT based transmitter in comparison to the MSA front end!?
In this regard , the (Pesa) RBE2 has a little edge on the Captor (a bit more LPI , if I may say) and Spectra is better than DASS (Spectra is superior to DASS in every way . I can discuss about it but in a different thread).
Feel free to open a new thread and answer the following questions about DASS and Spectra:
1.) What’s the exact frequency range of both systems?
2.) What’s the number of channels and their range to cover them?
3.) What’s the dynamic range gain of each system?
4.) What’s the bearing accuracy in all different bands?
5.) What’s the power output of each respective jammer?
6.) What are the exact modes of each jammer and how do they work?
If anyone else has useful questions to add…;)

…the Rafale is likely to stay ahead because of its superior passive detection…

Let me tell you this, in contrast to you and your likes I’m not so narrowly focussed on a single platform or platforms from a specific origin only, thus I try to keep my self up to date and as informed as possible as time etc. permits.
As Koby(?) recently said something about 45 OSFs I stick with the assumption that three of the four have been fitted with one.

At least good to know that some additional sets are ordered. Is it known whether all 4 Rafale lost thus far were fitted with a OSF? I suppose the first and last one are pretty likely.

Up to date there isn’t one OSF for each aircraft, more like one for two. Is there any press announcement for a contract awarded to supply additional OSF-ITs for the batch 1 & 3 aircraft?

not entirely correct following the revision of the deal Austria pays ~105,6 mln € per airframe (package price), albeit the federal accounting office has not verified some of the support contract savings which would translate into ~113 mln €.
