It must have been mine – one my dad took at Farnborough in 1955. Here it is again:

    Ooops… 😮

Still, it’s reappeared, which was the original idea.

Pete TRuman (I think!) posted a shot of three in the air together recently – you might want to try looking for his recent posts? Not a great shot – airshow box brownie sort of thing – but how many pics can there be of three Seamews?

Anyone ready for the German photo of the crash site of Bader’s Spitfire yet…..???!!

Well, someone told me on Sunday that he’d flown from Great Sampford (though I haven’t a clue about his source…), so I’m up for it.

Seriously, it’s really interesting to see an unusual aspect being covered especially as I’ve spent a (very cold!) night camping at the old Drone Hill radar station on the Scottish border.

Very nice, Nick! I often see the RAF from Oxford, or from Port Meadow, but the only time I’ve been close to Brize was playing cricket at Carterton. It’s good to see stuff from a bit closer! How long a lens do you need to get a shot from that road, I wonder? :diablo:

    Seriously – good to see!

It would certainly be nice if she was – she’s so redeolent of the period, and beautiful to boot. Oh to be in the situation where I could consider not playing with my Miles monoplane because I have lots of other wonderful aircraft.

You are a very lucky man, and I’m dead jealous!

Ah, now, they should get Danny Baker to present any TV program, so if all the metal has turned to Daz….

Thank you for… well, I’m not quite sure what now, seeing as everyone seems to have started a thread about the Storch, but thank you for sharing your wonderful aeroplane with us!

I really must get to OW again this summer to see the Hairywaffe and, if I’ve got my darkroom sorted, I might even have a couple of period cameras handy too for the snaps. Sorry chaps, not Leicas (I wish!), but a Welta Perle and a Zeiss Ikon Box Tengor.

The last time I saw a Storch in the air was the hideously wet display at Duxford in 1982, when I was 10, so I’m really looking forward to seeing what she can (sensibly – no scaring us with YouTube-worthy factory demonstrator stuff, please!) do.

Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

I know it was the first public appearance of the Tornado F2’s, with, from what I remember, ballast in place of the nose radar

Ah yes, in line with the policy of radars being named Blue something, this was apparently known as “Blue Circle”. 😀
