A good day to be flying something that appears to be one large crumple zone, I guess.

Looks like a nice little Shuttleworth-type show. I see at least one Dutch Tiger Moth flies without that butt-ugly extended fin they used to have – I do recall that right, don’t I?
Adrian
Flabob Express was still there, with one engine running, at 6pm as I left. I mmust confess that I felt it was a bit ad-hoc too, with a great deal of wondering what was going on going on. I guess iit was driven by things happening in Normandy/Portsmouth?
The Spitfire display was very good – I was just behind a group who were convinced it was the best they’d seen since Mark and Ray Hanna. Dunno about that, but I was impressed.
Sadly at some point I appear to have changed lenses in a sandstorm as the sensor on my camera looks as though someon has pebbledashed it, and I definitely have the speed wobbles… piffle and flip!

It seems that Sheepcotes is a farm – I have a feeling I may know some of the family from my Young Farmers days!

I have seen nothing that better sums up the second line of High Flight than that second Jungmann photo.
To think I used to keep my window open to hear one Dak coming into Stansted! I am looking forward to Wednesday with considerable trepidation as I wish Dad was there to see them, hard to drive with tears in your eyes, but forward is where I am looking.
Thank you, Paul!
Adrian
Lordy, that fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down! I guess these/this (don’t know how many there are) are the only flying representatives of the Canberra these days?
Adrian
Silver and yellow Harvard doing circuits of North Oxford – presumably over St Edward’s School (Big RAF connections) – rather more interestingly, it then did a couple over the Cumnor area.

*Drools down chin*
I bet that sounded fantastic!
Adrian
I’m coming on Wednesday – having not been to an airshow since the car park chaos at one of the 1990s Spitfire shows – presumably the A505 and M11 will be equally snarled up whichever way I come from?
Adrian
I am hugely, hugely, looking forward to seeing these all next week. It’s going to be emotional – Dad used to talk about the skies being full of aircraft, and I wish he was here to see it – but still looking forward to it.
Adrian
So how many Daks are there already, please?
Adrian
(plus – heading from Oxford on Wed 5th – I guess the A505 and M11 snarl up equally for Duxford “do”s?)
Ah, G-AWEF flew over us at Bledlow this evening. wonder where it’s mates went?
Adrian
Ah, that’ll be why it approached Kidlington from such an odd angle! Nice enough to see as it was, must have been great watching the parachutists!
Adrian
Bother – I’ll see what I can do.
Adrian
Anyone else getting a blank square?
Could it be sulking at the source’s watermark?
