Wow – I remember that Frog ad from a book my Dad had when I was a kid – I read it until it disintegrated, would love to find a copy, but have no idea even what it was called now. Included aircraft used by the RAF and for no particularly good reason have always recalled the figure it gave of only six Bostons having been lost on operations thus far. Might have been on US aircraft in the RAF, as I’m sure the P38 figured as well.

I haven’t any other pics it was a bit busy – watching the thugby! I think I can give it a plug, though… http://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/15481836.Pub_celebrates_200_years_of_pulling_pints_for_the_community/

If the Sea Fury crash-landing is anything to go by, if the Vixen’s pilot does get a gong someone will pop up here and tell us all how he shouldn’t, and how they know all this because they once landed a Cessna…

Two miles down… Had to be deep to have that little marine growth and corrosion.

It seems only 5 minutes since the announcement that R4118 was going to be stabled at Old Warden – was that only ever going to be a temporary arrangement?

Especially given that the whole of the Enigma Variations is one whacking great musical joke. Elgar must be turning in his grave.

SWMBO and I have just watched Billy and the Fighter Boys.
I’m not sure the CGI was any better even when new, but the story is as compelling as when I watched it first.
May they sit above the salt in Valhalla.

I’m at work so I’m not going to look up the distances, but I suspect if a Dakota could tow a Horsa off from RAF Great Sampford (built for Spitfires) then there’ll be plenty of runway at DX to stack them on and still leave enough for take-off.

Seems strange to think that the frankly rough Spitfire I remember seeing at Overloon in 1985, I think, is now in the air (and I’ve seen it there too).
Overlooon in the 1980s was quite an experience, but can’t have done a lot for the preservation of a lot of stuff.

I think a Vickers Vimy derivative of some sort is a pretty safe bet. These days it’d be told to take more exercise and try to adopt a more mediterranean diet!

Any more Daz and Danny Baker would be doing the doorstep challenge.

You can still get it! Wow! Guess what I had on my wall… According to that there were, I think four (five?) in the parish. One was supposed to have crashed at the bottom of the school grounds… but you know what kids are like with speculation. No-one knew about this, in a field at the top of the road…

(nut and bolt restoration? I’ve seen some photos, nothing bigger than a dinner plate came out of the hole!).
Sorry, I’m digressing badly.
