It belongs to a friend of mine who keeps it at a local fruit farm and takes it around various events.

I bet it’s great for deterring scrumpers!

Great news! I’ve never seen her in the air, now there’s a chance.

What a shame, the RNHF does seem to be fated with Sea Furies.

I wonder how the RNHF’s rate compares to the in-service prang rate? I’m sure they’re flown much more gingerly these days, but is it simply that they’re a big hairy beast?

Just curious as to how much footage of Lancaster gunners shooting at things exists, given the RAF’s tendency to fly at night…

As for the documentary being another insult… well, we could all just ignore it utterly, if that makes you feel better? Let’s all just pretend it didn’t happen, just to keep a few pedants happy. Better? I hope you feel that’s a ridiculous argument, but that’s a logical extension of your viewpoint.

Good job I wasn’t drinking tea, Moggy!

    I think he’s got a camera out…

And I thought the EoN looked scary in the air! The Fauvel tops it, though. Wouldn’t get me up in one…

I love the lass in the rear seat of the Messenger, grinning like an eejit. I suspect that’s someone whose day was being made!

Funnily enough, I was quite surprised by the relative paucity of random wrong aircraft creeping in (the Raymond Baxter Spitfire documentary had a P47 in it, so it’s hardly a new thing). Yes, there was a Stirling, I’m reasonably certain the same shot of a B17 crept in a couple of times, and there were an awful lot of shots of very American looking bombs falling – but given that the RAF bombed mostly at night… By the standards of a lot I’ve seen, it scored quite highly on the right plane front.

Sure, it wasn’t to everyone’s taste, but didn’t we all envy Sargent in the air alongside PA474, and having met the Stevens(spelling?) it was a pleasure to see the two lovebirds again!

    South Africa?

He may well mean South Australia.

    Doesn’t that sloop look fantastic?

I’ll second that! Pedantically I’d like to have seen her in original WW1 Dazzle, but realistically I never thought I’d have the opportunity to see a dazzle ship, and there she is on the Thames.

Another vote for surprise at how quiet it was, this time not the Connie but a Sea Fury heading west, spotted just to the East of Oxford, quite high so no opportunity to spot markings etc.

Thanks for the comments on the Skyvans, Mike. G-INFo suggest the third (reg escapes me) was used for parts some years ago.

Thanks everyone, that sounds really positive. Dad has a blue badge (which, of course, these days is transferable to any vehicle he is in – depending on whether he can get in my car or not!) so it sounds as though it shouldn’t be a problem.

I’m very impressed by the speed of exit, Curlyboy -I’ve not been back to a show after that hideous queue!

Now we just need him to be fit enough before it sells out… come on Dad, come on NHS!

I saw a Spitfire turning onto finals on Monday evening, but as I was driving past DX I guess that’s cheating a bit!

Surprised last night to see a white and blue Skyvan heading into Kidlington. Having got used to seeing G-PIGY in blue with white bits, it was abit of a blast from the past to see this one. Presumably G-BEOL?
(you may have noticed I like Skyvans. They may look like a shed with wings, but they’re easy to ID and come over regularly!)

Anyone with an avatar like Bob’s needs watching… I nearly spat tea over the keyboard when I saw it first. I’m thinking of downloading all his posts and saving them for when I need a laugh. That one’s a cracker!
