Boeing engineers are using 3-D printing to aid in rapid prototyping efforts. 3-D printing is similar to that of a standard inkjet printer. A computer generated 3-D model is sent to the printer, which divides it into extremely thin cross sections. A powder is layered across each cross section at a rate of one vertical inch per hour. Teams across Boeing are using 3-D printing in a plethora of ways, including fit check models, shop aids, tool mock-ups and visualization models.
Local applied science school where I heve been teaching actually has had that kinda printer for few years now. I am happy Boeing finally got one. :applause:
Who ever thought up those numbers, is living on Fantasy Island.
Is this another of Topspeed’s designs?
No its not me, but John Roncz is actually in business with chinese ask him. Mine would have had 10 000 km range and combat radius 3200 km.
How about now…10% bigger ?!
How do you fit all the flight controls, nav gear, aircon units etc. in such a small space and have something that’s possible to service.
Still don’t see how it’s easy to get in and out of. People when they get older get still and often larger.
A so many in a small cramped space…toilets??
What about getting out quick in an emergency.
Where does the baggage go?
I just can’t see a use for a jet this small.
GR !
You are right it is 10% too small as it is now.
Citation Mustang has similar engines and is double sized.

Idea is to go really fast for 3000 km dashes that you don’t need to go to toilet.
Here ios some serious tuning to it.
1950 nm range and 900 km/h cruise.

Many who use bizjets…most probably, want size and space.
I can’t imagine anyone wanting to be squeezed into that
Small jets like the Phenom are about the smallest practical size.
A single engine also limits over water use…engines till can and do fail
As I see it the Eclipse500 is a twin as is my canard..Eclipse400 was a single engine machine.
Could it be that the small PW610 engines on 500 are a tad too weak..both are pretty slow.
I was figuring this VT-Cruzer could fly 900 km/h at FL 400 for 3600 km without refuelling and 1100 km/h around 2400 km.
It would be like sitting in a sail plane…comfortable enough when you get used to it.
Flying Oulu-Norilsk-Magadan-Nome-Regina-Charlottetown-Reykjavik-Oulu in less than 48 hours would beat the world record about 9 hrs.
I think that would be awesome sales certificate.
And in regards to its speed/turning, its stats are based upon real world combat performance, rather than what a competitor can do, unhindered by extra weight/drag, in a clean configuration. In other words, its practical abilities match/exceed many theoretical capabilities.
It is a classical case os US made fighters. The nazis used to call P-47 as a flying barn door…referring to the aerodynamics that eveything flies that has big enuf engine. Anyway what concerns me a bit is that F-35 has frontal cross section of 7.9 m2 and F-22 8.0 m2…but latter has more than 1/3 more power…thus into F-22 applies the barn door verbalism but I am not 100% sure what applies to F-35….in hands of good pilots also the Brewster had its hayday…maybe it is the modern day Brewster in flying, but as a highly advanced stealth fighter gives it an edge only F-22 has ???
Er…Brewster had good view to rear the F-35 doesn’t have…does it need one since it is stealth and has radar ?
I guess that when your great-uncle Mitt designed the Zero-Sen, it gives you a sense of authority.
I actually typed Mitt and then Subishi on google bar…and it gave me Mitsubishi related sites…ROFALMAO. :highly_amused:
Study commissioned by SAAB…
Right and flight tests conducted at Canary Islands where the gas in 50 cents a liter.
I cannot comment with very good experience, but I used to fly R/C combat models ( WW II models in 1/12 scale ) in 1990-1993 and drew plans for a Me-109 G
that I flew 150+ flights. I had also couple of P-51Ds.
I’d say the confidence comes when you master your craft inside and out. Most important is to use throttle to get the situation speeds right and master the timing. 😀
Fancy maneuvers like split -S:s that end just above the ground might fool the enemy but also risk you own craft unless you know your stuff ! Power to weight ratio gives massive advantages if you can go vertically and fly loops or Immelmanns with huge diameter. But is all just in dogfights..weapon systems and stealth weren’t that developed in those times as the Mustangs, Spitfires and Messerschmitts and YAK-3s battled.
I am sure you’ll get to fly more if a real hazard ( like dark clouds in the horizon ) is coming. Simulated flights might help too.
I thought he was making a reference that the model was somehow Pakistani and that therefore the chinese model and that may be connected.
Of course the more paranoid folks may also wonder if there was a coy subtext trying to connect the cheap plastic propaganda models that Iran has been showing which serve no other purpose than to wave their arms around in a childish manner screaming “we’re relevant!” along this chinese model, thereby insinuating the latter is as much a real project as the Iranian model (with the most distinctive shared feature being their top mounted air intakes)… but I’m sure nobody was thinking that.
I think Iranians would have already made several stealth fighters as well if they’d been able to steal all US important stealth fighter data as the chinese have. I bet these stealth are built by forced labor on prisoncamps by Falun Gong movement jailed folks.
Tell me the ruddervators are not copied from Raymers design enclosed.
