The Fighter “Special Period” (World War III), Sukhoi, designer KH Marbashev.
RD-33 engine 5200 kg / 8300 kg
take-off weight of 10 – 12 tons
empty weight of 5800 kg
3100 kg of fuel
2000 kg weapon
Gun GSH-301 + 2 + R-73 + 2 R-77
Impressive…not so tiny but smaller than many.
Like F-16 and Berkut etc.
Lotsa punch in those missiles..isn’t R-77 the “Amraamski” ?
81.3 kN RD-33 engine should boost it beyod Mach 2 ?
Is GSH 301 really that lite 46 kilos ?
The “next best thing” could easily be a home made explosive, which could potentially be worse than an automatic weapon if exploited to its potential.
Most of these attacks seem to be carried out with semi auto handguns, I would suspect that the vast majority of automatic weapons in private hands are with responsible owners.
Banning these weapons won’t work in the US IMO. Their borders are too large to be policed effectively, and the world is full of ex Soviet automatic weapons that are available easily and cheaply. While the Police carry handguns, there will always be a demand for large numbers of black market weapons in the US, if the regular supply chains are restricted.
As I said above, I’m all for tighter gun controls, but I believe a total ban would achieve nothing but make the movement of firearms untraceable and punish a huge number of responsible gun owners.
Stepping up security in schools would be more effective, but what kind of message does that send to children?
Seems that you were right. This happened and even worse in Norway a year ago.

Russia does not have internal problems thath why it can confidently spend alot of money and elect single center.
Russia is not economic partner but it want to drive Germany around. Germany can no longer live well off without Russia.
http://www.volkswagenag.com/content/vwcorp/info_center/en/news/2013/04/Volkswagen_at_Hannover_Messe.html
Now Germany has serious problem. It is shifting factories to China and Russia at great speed. This is called dysfunctional state of Germany. It want to keep Euro but have no capability to create jobs for EU. which is causing high unemployment in West part of EU. like Spain/France/UK/Italy . Since these countries have no other way of keep themselves afloat but selling firms/arms/real estate to Arabs. That will cause conflict with Russia. Germany will be in middle of two conflicting sides. It just shows you hardly understand economics.
Are you saying history repeats itself…I recall Ernst Heinkel and Junkers had co-operation/factories in Russia ( USSR ) before WW II.
Finnish relations with Russia are ok. Problem might be like here shown too that Russians think Finland only as the old colony they conquered from Swedes..when in fact finns have been on this side of the globe for really long time. Swedish kings did also inhabit the Leningrad region ( Neva River ) with finns or reinforced the finnish originated tribes ( that in fact reach/reached pretty far into east from Finland ). This actually caused the “confusion” with Stalin since he couldn’t make communism since there was these nationalities with old habits inside the system…and he decided to get rid of them..by killing, deporting and jailing all as enemies of the state ( which was the worst stigma in communist USSR…common criminals in prison camps used to stick a nail into politicals head and raped their women like did the guards..told by the ex-chief guard of Archangel camp in his memoirs ). Unfortunately some finns also tought that when Hitler launched BARBAROSSA that some of these finnish tribes could be unified..but it was too late in 1941-44..all finns had been replaced by communists from all over the Russia. I recall finnish officials actually had listed people with over 90 nationalities in that region ( while finns occupied the eastern Karelia which was never part of Finland before ) many where also soldiers that were caught as POWs. Unfortunately also the oil wells of Russia are in the Mari people region..who are exploited to the fullest ruthlessly, but I won’t go into that…that happeness everywhere…Shell people hunted hitherto unknown indian tribes late in the 80ies with rifles in Amazons and in south America in general.
So I don’t think the old habits of the russkies in newer KGB command really have totally vanished…the vast majority always stumble the rights of the minorities. Therefore also USSR cannot favour finnish participation in the NATO. Also great majority here actually don’t want to join NATO almost half also would have rejected EU some 10-15 years ago.
Ok Paralay..you have a talent putting ideas into 3D form with a pen/pencils..this is s gift that many don’t have…unfortunately even the most “talented” aeroplane designers don’t have it…despite being able to do many extremely difficult mathematical equations like Navier Stokes etc. It can only be kept by drawing constantly..like children do.
I have flown lots of 1/12 scale R/C combat models..P-51Ds, Zero, Me-109s etc. Also the LS-1 glider…and several of my own designs. I used to live by an AF base and inside the base too ( daddy teached there long time ago ). I remember Fougas flying at 50 meters by our house on daily basis..sometimes at nite…and crashing too.
Scientists do not even know where oil really comes from, so you can take that chart and put in the same drawer with all the other expert’s predictions that are self-centered bs.
It works fine for politicians floating political bs on the ignorant masses but that is all it is good for.
If you look at it closely you see that only area where the oil is not running out is middle east !
Oh please, get real.
We are not going to run out of oil, ever, but in the Neverland chance we would even come close, there are billions of tons of coal that can be turned into volatile and lubricating fluids.
Peak oil familiar to you ?

Might be pretty nasty already in 2025..if 3/4 available.
When the price of oil gets sustainably high enough carbon will be profitably scrubbed from the atmosphere & turned into a synthetic fuel, there will be no long term fuel shortage, just price shock.
Are you serious ? Once the oil has been used..it is gone. Only forests can grow back…43% of the rainforests are left.
Look at the way this problem is solved, “adult uncle” 🙂

Here Paralay…I was doing some digging;

It was said to be stealth in 1982 and marked as N353/P900 Compact Efficient Fighter ?

Anyway I was counting and I realized the weaponry concealed in biggest 5th gen fighters takes 9 qubic meters…isn’t that like B-17 bomb bay or bigger ? Shouldn’t they be called strategic bombers then ?
J-20 has more punch than a Concorde !
B-17 only carried 2200 kg bombs; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_B-17_Flying_Fortress
Superfortresss carried 9 000 kg; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_B-29_Superfortress
PAK-FA T-50 carries 7500 kg and F-22 10 000 + kg.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukhoi_PAK_FA
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_Martin_F-22_Raptor
Then again…J-20 seems to be a bomber; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chengdu_J-20

The reason why F-104 had such short stubby wings was possibly this..its rival in fighter competition.
Not exactly an eye candy the F-91 Thunderceptor.

NEW GM-1 with F-86
This new lay out gave RCS of around 0.001-0.0005 m2 ( estimate )…and here is to show that 15.3 kN turbofan can go along way.

Sabre was able to be boosted into realm of 26.5 kN for 5 minutes !
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_F-86_Sabre
Scale factor tells that comparable power for GM is 26.3 kN/3.02 =8.7 kN which by the way is 58% of the GM-1 turbofans PW535F-Es out put.
New engine is 317 kg and Sabres General Electric J47-GE-27 was 1228 kg ( dry ). Also carbon and composites save another 20-30% of the weight.
Look at the way this problem is solved, “adult uncle” 🙂

Nice rendition of a deltawinged rudderwinglet thrust vector plane.
Paralay are you a “real” aeroplane designer ?
I have no idea what happened to the images..but no biggie…I redesigned the whole plane.
After this Glider Monkey..thence it is now GM-1 !
It a lot like this…in idea level that is.

Sneak peak here ! It is even with the scaled power with J-7 !

It still can’t take on J-20 with even scaled power, but has better power to weight ratio even with full internal fuel load and missiles.

USA don’t need to go to war to get Norway! Because over uber stubbern government will buy JSF without knowing the price (or specs) and when they are delivered, US will tell the price in fantasy milliards, so we will owe them all of Norway 😉
LOL ROFOLMAO ! Lucky you dudes have the fantasy billions…we just have to take more loan ( if someone is willing ).
😉
Thought this was quite interesting:

Of particular note is the concern that NATO would not defend Baltic States in case of a Russian take over.
Other notable aspects are comments regarding European disarmament and in Baltic region the disarmament of Sweden.
In many ways, Eastern Europe is right for the picking – most Eastern European airforces cannot muster a dozen operational jets and many are no longer capable of fielding coherent ground forces either.
In fact the standard “army” in Europe seems to be a couple of brigades with little or no armour and next to no artillery.
NATO membership is only a security guarantee if the US is willing to enforce it.
With US’ attention turning to Asia, this may not be the case in the future.
From an aerospace perspective, it makes one wonder whether purchases of small amounts of 4.5-5th generation fighters by European Air Forces is at all viable.
These sort of aircraft are complete overkill in COIN ops yet their extremely small numbers mean they are also pointless in high tech conventional war.
It also puts into question the running down of Eastern European airforces – the Eastern European airforces that are in NATO field 230 odd combat aircraft about half of which are Polish. And this number will decline with retirement of Polish Su-22s (only replacement may be drones) and draw down of Romanian MiG-21s.
Of these only 76 are modern 4th generation (JAS-39, F-16C/D). There are 60 odd MiG-29s. The rest is Su-22 (retired about 2018), MiG-21, Su-25 or subsonic limited utility L-159.
Rebuilding any sort of capability would take a long time (decades given current lead times) especially in Eastern Europe.
That is correct…with the money we possibly have avail there could be just 40JSFs if US is even willing to sell’em or JAS Gripen or J-10 or similar.
I recall FAF wartime chief stategist after WW II in the fifties ( and who was murdered by KGB in her wifes opinion ) said we’ll need 280 fighters to be capable to defend the air space. Okay new planes numbers have dropped from WW II dramatically…but strike capability increased as well.
Sweden’s commander of the armed forces said recently that Sweden could maintain the resistance for about a week…if outnumbered by an overhelming enemy.
Russias 4-5 new PAK-FAs with enermous fuel consumption and forest fires that spread black smog into our capitol each summer and pollution from St.Petersburg area ( vast metropol pollutes 50% of the Baltic Sea ) concern me more from global point of view..than their military build up…don’t they still have enough nukelar warheads to destroy the earth several times over. Certainly russians should concentrate to aid the street kids that live in sewers and snif glue than put they money and effort to new nukes and tanks etc.
I find very concerning the fact that there will be very little oil left at the end of the next generation jets lifespan according to all estimates that are available.
J-20 at full AB burns 90 000 liters an hour and 110 hours is worth one new biofuel plants annual production.
I think this endless exploitation of oil is going to get a nasty ending…if we don’t act soon enough. This is the real enemy right now we ought to fight.
This is just my opinion…many people want just to say all “green stuff” and Al Gore especially are just clowns.
