    You go Earth Warrior!:)
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Earth_Battalion

    Interesting…

If we really wanna go green then here is the ACE !

    😀

Armed with 2 x Stinger / IGLA IR missiles. 33 times smaller than a J-20.

If somebody would be interested in a cheap fighter, there is one way for me to do it and that is to use the engine of a biz-jet. Take a BR-710, put it in a fat fuselage like a shrinked X-32 and you could get a decent subsonic plane. (might go supersonice in a dive)

Isn’t that just what we area doing ? Instead there is now PW307A.

What we really should do since 43% of the rainforests are left ?

Install the V-Raptor with 16 concealed and further 18 external SEEDBOMS !

    La-250

Ok..I got it. I added them to my list on page one !

    Thanks for the input.

The point I am trying to make is that with new engines and materials and construction and intelligent weapons etc we could have fighters that are just burning 1/50th of the fuel of what the biggest ones now burn on full AB.

I have started to be environmentally slightly worried..oil is running out etc.

Probably because they are not fighters in the strict sense, but ‘interceptors,’ designed to provide the air defence for nations which are entire continental land masses in scale…

….and they are COLD WAR ERA fighter…F-22 RAPTOR was designed in the 80ies.

    Cold War ended in 1991.

Well in contrary to the others I don’t think that this is either cooling system nor air-intake for APU.

i think, that this are in fact ducts to steer the air-flow for passive servo for rudders.

    Why?

No APU is situated so far back in military airplane in contrary to civilian airplane.

Also cooling is needed in front, where electronics generate heat, and why extra piping? No sense.

However, to turn the rudder a lot of force is needed and I think that this could be reduced by use of pressure of the air. With speed both forces, to turn the rudder and the force generated by such servo would increase in equal proportion.

Thus I belive, that this in fact air-servo for rudders.

I actually tought instantly suntin like this.

Take the man out of the cockpit

Why would I do that..they’d be all unemployed like pretty boy Floyd ??

See this V-Raptor has with PW307A 40% more thrust and nearly 3 times less drag ( LG not counted in )…I no longer show out details.

I am not sure if any war plane is really pretty but F-16 comes close.

    Also this is impressive;

according to wiki dry weight of allison engine is 1300kg.

    whereas the PW307A is 551kg 😀

This would mean that FJ-1 had 1/3 of its empty weight on the engine alone.

This ratio gives faster Velociraptor 1653 kg empty weight ( wing loading 78 kg/m2 on fuel vapours ! ). That would be something..but there is a 72 kilo radar and 4 Mica AAMs and a 800 lbs cannon on board too. We also save in landing gear which is really lite.

Only Spitfire Mk1. comes close in almost empty wing loading with 97 kg/m2.

    http://www.airpages.ru/eng/uk/spitf1.shtml

In real life all new systems will bring V-Raptor if build and engineered and flown into 150 kg/m2 in litely loaded wing loading.

new engines are lighter. yes. if the “old” engine was good enough in the past using old fashioned materials, why are new fighters so heavy and complex…

in fact with modern digital electronics, FBW/FBL reduced hydraulics aircraft should become lighter… but of course all the “redundancy” measures built into fighters as well as “over engineering” have penalties…

I am guessing you’re planning on doing to SAAB what Nokia did to Ericsson? Finns, always looking to mess things up for the Swedes!

Exactly..new aerodynamics and structure together will emerge a new concept that is by far lighter than previous concepts..and the safety capsule structure for high machs is also a protective shield against small arms fire and missiles inflicted schrapnels.

    Overengineering to minimum.

Why would Finland be interested what chinese SAAB is doing…I figure all good specialists would be welcome to work on a fighter that is 50 times more green than a chinese super jet J-20 ?

4th generation jet hardly competes with 6th generation jet..does it ? Surely this is just a daydream..but there is a chance if someone can hold on to it.

    😎

NOKIA hardly did anything else than provided few hundred inventions that we now worldwide use…NOKIA has fallen down totally…it isn’t even among the 50 biggest enterprises in Finland…they do make quality product that lasted long…too long maybe.

I reckon such a plane could be useful for many potential future wars.

    israel vs all neighbours
    algeria vs morocco
    iraq vs all neighbours
    iran vs all GCC
    iran vs USA
    pakistan vs india
    bangladesh vs myanmar
    china vs all neighbours
DPRK vs americans and their treacherous lackeys

    Balkan everyone vs everyone
    Greece vs Turkey
    Greece vs Germany
    Greece vs Macedonia
    Rangers vs celtic
    France vs Corsican Independence Front
Sudan vs South Sudan the sequel

etc… sell to both sides. ca$h in.

    I hope not.

Apart from North Korea very few countries face a threat which could see a huge fleet of complex enemy fighters attacking your key cities.

Er…we have faced that twice..I mean hundreds of times, but in two wars. Even my town has been bombed..and houses burned to the ground. Yes and also admiral Nelson bombed us from his fleet…that was a different war earlier.
