SIMAVIATION has a free Me-109 G-10…flies in MS FSX. Several 109s can be found. Also other Messerschmitt designs like the Komet.
Aren’t they also resurrecting the TU-144 project ?
It was an experimental aircraft so no requirement for bottle shape area ruling.
Tail pipe region seems pretty draggy too.
Well perhaps with the money they got on selling those Gripen, they can used it to resurrect at least a sq of Cheetah. I know is a long shoot, and I don’t know the conditions of Atlas as Aircraft facility presently, however with Cheetah badically being remanufactured in Atlas to begin with, perhaps overall operating Cheetah again still made SAF at least able to maintain 1 sq of fast jets operational.
What I’m getting at, the money from Gripen sale can be used to restructured SAF budget and by then SAF can still be operational as respectable AF (for sub sahara Africa at least).
It may have to do with the Cheetah…their pride and joy; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKt7r7tREL4
What actually was the first canard + delta wing fighter ?
Kfir was introduced in 1973….and now being fitted with AESA radar ?

Swedes possibly with Viggen J-37 ?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saab_37_Viggen
Introduced in 1971.
If it is just ½ scale ?
I find it an fashinating aircraft.
The landing has always impressed me
Wes..
This is unpresedented too; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YA8QXenJzgA
Yes, but the EAP technology demonstrator which was the forerunner to Eurofighter flew in 1986.
That is the same year as the first flite for the IAI Lavi.

In fact 5 months earlier; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Aerospace_EAP

Who cares ? It was a research craft in the field of supermanoevrability. Why would they bother design an inlet that works up to Mach 2 ?
As said earlier, actuator fairings.
Right it was not designed to go any faster.
Actually it gave validity to post stall super maneuverability and used a layout similar to the EF. Without constant nose corrections it’s nose would flip up and over instantly.
Might be….the FSX model was pretty easy to fly at 10 kts speed 70 degs nose up.

One thing bugs me…the X-31 goes 1.28 M but similar engine Gripen Mach 2.0 ?
Why does the X-31 have cranked-delta wing ? Does that cause the stability ?

What are those underneath the wing ? 😉
well the Chinese did get an extensive look at the Lavi
then they made their own in the early 90s
but had to modify the design extensively because they could only get Russian engines.
this just looks right
J-10 flew 1998 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chengdu_J-10 and IAI Lavi 12 years earlier 1986; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IAI_Lavi
So you are right.
Actually X-31 flew in 1990 and Eurofighter 4 years after; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurofighter_Typhoon
I figure J-10 and Typhoon can supercruise.
When was the original concept first introduced/patented ?
And this even.

Lavi…what a sight.

Isn’t this almost a spitting image of it ?

I tested in MS FSX….and I like it.
