I actually just modified this old Hippiäinen design; http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?129479-What-is-the-minimum-instrumentation-in-a-hyperlite&highlight=hippi%E4inen
Did I manage to get it into better or worse direction ?
Which do you prefer ? I want to hear comments.
It seems to be here too ( the Hippiäinen ); http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?116333-If-I-only-had-a-crystal-ball-!&highlight=hippi%E4inen
Ok who was it ?

Very sad, I wonder where he got that idea?
Japanese WW 2 ?
Here is a beautiful build up of an Evans Volksplane.

Here is my design with Evans.
Feel free to comment !
It is not a YAK-52.
I wasn’t… but does anyone else look at the design and think it looks like the spawn of a sailplane and the English Electric Wren?
Given the vast improvements in solar cells since then, quite an achievement in its day!

Exacticulement…also a question mark sorta hangs over my head when ever I see this Solar One. Why, since the pedal powered aeroplanes only need 280 watts contant power, there hasn’t been more independently on solar power flying aeroplanes since the best efficiencies ( in the lab ) are now at 46%…that is 460 watts / m2….a 10 m2 wing would yield 4600 watts ( peak power at noon ) and 6256 watts at 6 km altitude…6300 watts is around 8,4 hp. Solar Impulse II has around 20% efficient panels ( film thin type ). To get 10 hp on those you need 25 m2 of wing.
topspeed – there’s a couple of photographs of the restoration progress on a ST12 in here!
Cool that is with retractable landing gear. :applause:
Ok I see…it was flown to Australia; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQWU00ub9ow
Is the lack of no forward visibility a small hindrance on this ?
It is faily small and easy ( stable ) to fly I assume.
It was a beautiful plane; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Aircraft_Monospar
my guess is $60-70m a piece
How come I get the feeling the price is not the issue but if you get a deal where the other country buys your products worth the same amount the governments are easily “seduced” to get your aeroplane…..if it even looks a bit like an aeroplane for the duty….on a paper that is as figures.
I thought you referred to the Icon; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51qTAbLiziI
