There is something familiar in it.

The historical origins of Russian culture & the arms industry & its arms industry are not in either Crimea or eastern Ukraine. The first major Russian state had its capital in Kiev, not eastern Ukraine, & most of its territory was north of there, in what is now Belarus & west & central Russia. Neither Crimea nor eastern Ukraine were at all Russian at the time, despite current Russian propaganda. Novgorod, Old Ryazan, Suzdal, Smolensk, Polotsk, Pskov, Rostov-Velikiy, Chernihiv – this is the ancient heartland of Russia, & its chief cities were Kiev in the south & Novgorod in the north.

Lugansk & Donetsk are new cities, founded in the late 18th century in what had previously been a wild land sparsely inhabited by Turkic nomads. Crimea was taken from the Ottomans at the same time. Part of it had been in the empire of Kievan Rus in the middle ages, but it was a border province, an outlier, & not Russian in language or culture. It had no more to do with the historical origins of Russian culture than Portugal had to do with the historical origins of Arab culture.

Ok…all right. I am not an expert in Russian affairs. So it seems like Russia wanted to have Crimea back as Hrutsev gave it to Ukraine by mistake ( as he was ukrainian ? ) and the Sevastapol is there….navy base ?

I feel Poland and Finland should be bolstered to prevent a repeat of the Ukraine. I hope Finland bulks up its army capabilities, not just options in the air.

I have a haunch Poland and Finland are not in the main menu list of mr Putin. I hope I am not wrong.

If I am not mistaken the Crimea and eastern Ukraine are pro Russia regions. Also the historical origins of Russian culture as well as arms industry is down there.

IMHO Northrop has to be badly cornered if it has to buy Scaled to get outa trouble.

me-163 had a fuselage and a distinguishable boom that a rudder was attached to, i.e. a tail. That is not a flying wing, it is a normal plane with some of the characteristics of a flying wing. The Horton was a true flying wing.

Flying wing was patented in 1910 by Hugo Junkers.

Horten Ho-229 was also a flying wing without a rudder and more blended fuselage.
