I was told that G-APWP was stored at a farm near the London Gliding Club. I havent seen that since the airshows at Dunstable in the 1960’s.

A sad day for you. I know how it feels. We had to move out of Bletchley Park, some years ago.
Dave
Very nice.
What is the half built fueslage in the background in the first photo?
Dave
Had lots of gliders crash with in a mile of here, plus A Tger Moth in 1936 which my dad saw and Slingsby Motor Tutor in 1964 which I saw. But all I can find now is Roman stuff. They the Roman’s must have come to Totternhoe for the glidiing !:diablo:
Dave
I see its out of its box. See Plane talk forum.
Dave
I think its the Macclesfield viaduct. The first glider opperation by the British a Kirby Kite and a Rhonbuzzard where use. They where uncamoflaged at the time. Most historians say they where camoufaged, but photo’s show different.
Dave
The 1938 film was called ‘Pour le Merite, Fokker Dr1 582/17 had the registraion D-EFOK.

They then stripped a Kirby Kite of as much metal as possible by replacing cables and pushrods with wood and non-metalic materials. Again, they could still detect them.
The Slingsby Kirby Kite C/N 355A was built for the radar trials. On the main spar was the date 3/jul/1940. The wings never had any mods. Thats how it was built.

Yes we (BARG) where pushed out of Bletchley Park. We where told that we where only a hobby. In fact we where the first group to help open up the park. We went all over localy and made local radio many times to promote Bletchey Park. When the lady took over.We and other groups had to go one way or another. We spent our own time and money trying to look after the buildings. Only to be told later, not to do it, they would get someone else in at a cost. They spent money on new office furnture and let most of the Park decay. I now have no intrest in BP any more.
Dave
Also in the film was Burt Kwouk, who later went on to play Cato in the ‘Pink Panter’ with Peter Sellers
Dave
Its a Triumph Twin but what size?
Dave
Haven’t seen it for some. Didn’t they scrap the B17’s in England after the film was made?
Dave
I will look forward to watching it.
Dave
You wouldn’t get a CF100 in a box that size! :diablo:

I don’t know, Totternhoe to Duxford doesn’t seem too far to travel if you wish to clean it. 🙂
My days of cleaning aircraft at Duxford are long gone. Rapide, Tiger moth and other Russavia aircraft. It’s about 40 minutes from Totternhoe. Im doing things at Shuttleworth now.
