Are there any plans to allow internal tours of the Halifax? Something I really would like to do and would be happy to make a contribution to the cause.
I went in the Halifax some years ago, with an ex 158sdn wop/ag. It was fasciating. He even told me how the got into a Halifax, just put your backside on the floor under the door then sing your legs in. He also pointed to the escape hatch that he used when he was shot down.
But last time we went there we couldnt go inside due to the radation of the dials, good job he didn’t know that during the war!

Last time i was inside a DC2 was when they did some filming at Duxford. We use the Russavia Rapide. It was in the early 1980’s. They where making a film about the race.

I haven’t got a copy of that wingspan. I have bought wingspan mags on ebay. When I was looking for articals on Slingsby Kirby Kites. I had to get rid of all my magazines when i got divorced. Had no where to keep them. Wish i had keeped all them!

Ive got rudder fabric of a Avro 504K E3648 with German fieldpost lable on the back, Also got a 504N prop boss.

In the 1970s, the Control Column magazane reported that a Fairey Albacore had be found in the jungle India i think, the FAA museum where going to recover it. By the time they went to get it the natives had stripped it. So it was lost.

Didnt the same thing happen with there Westland Wallace and DH2 project! No one to fund them.

This is how we did it at Blecthley Park years ago. I wouldnt recomend it. Unsafe and burnt the car clucth out!
