I dont know how much longer I will get Flypast. I have been getting it from when it first started. But I get feed up of reading about Spitfires all the time, nice as they are. Their must be many other aircraft we could see and read about them.
    Rant over.

I bought this book years ago. Though mine has a different dust cover, it came out in 1997 in the UK.

After six years of rebuilding, we thought we should proof load the Kite wings to 4G. We loaded the wing up with 320 kg.
Hope to start covering this week.

Junkers J.1 on the left and a Nieuport 17 on the right. I used to have a complete set of these photos but gave them to the RAF museum before it opened !

Had a friend who was with 158 sdn. Use to drink at the Spa at Bridlington. Shot down on his 12th op. Told us that they would buy a pint for anyone who got the chop and the pint would stay there for a long time. Also they would put soot foot prints on the celling , they would turn someone up side down and walk them around leaving the foot prints. He passed away a few few years back. I think he was the last of his crew to go. Kept in touch with them since 1945 at least two where form Canada. His pilot was killed in a B25 on a fire fighting crash soon after the war. One was killed when he was shot down in their Halifax.
