Well done chaps. Here they are,

Thanks. Mystery solved!:)
Of course! I hadn’t thought about trafficators I must admit. That does make sense as these Series 1 jobs don’t seem to be fitted with indicator lights at all.
Although the first photo I linked to was of a restored Rover, they also appear on period photos too such as,

And this is what Phil started with…

That’s a shame. I know Phil has put a massive amount of work into that Vampire over many, many years and resurrected it from an absolute wreck.
I hope it finds a good home and that the sale wasn’t prompted by anything serious.

Anyone remember “Aces Four”? There was also a Hunter foursome, the Blue something or other. (ok, you did qualify it with “important team”).
You’re probably thinking of the “Blue Herons” from FRADU who flew GA.11s. They disbanded in 1980.
Does anyone know if/when the first programme will be repeated? I was on holiday when it was broadcast and it wasn’t available on iPlayer for very long afterwards so I missed it there too.
This is old technology really, its been around a long time, I’ve been doing this stuff since 1989, we are all probably no further than 20 miles from somebody with this capability.
True enough. Not especially exciting in itself, but what does amaze me is the thought that nearly 8,000 Mosquitos were built in the 1940’s (with wooden components made to astonishing tolerances) without the use of CNC machines such as this.
Oh sod ********!!! 😡
Repeated on Thursday night (5th July) I believe if you missed it.
On a more interesting note, my daughters are looking at putting a CD or photo book together of CockpitFest through the years.
If anyone is interested, has pictures, ideas or participant lists that would be great.
I’ve uploaded the photos I have from every Cockpitfest here. The photos of the very first one are a bit sparse (and pretty poor quality), but better than nothing.

Did anyone get a photo of the Stirling flight deck?
It has attended two Cockpit-fest events now and managed to counter-measure photography very successfully :D:D:D;)
Sorry, it’s not the best, but I’m in work and haven’t got access to all my photos at the moment…
No, it was all sorted out and cleared two days ago. Google havent caught up with it yet is all.

Got to the bottom of it now I think. There wasn’t actually any malicious code on the cockpitfest website as such, but other sites were using some legitimate code on the site (used to cleanly activate links to other websites) to link to sites that were dodgy.
I’ve removed the code altogether which means the site doesn’t work quite as I’d like it now, but it has removed the redirection route these other sites were using.
I’ve resubmitted the site to Google for testing so will see what they come back with in due course.
Quick note.
The cockpitfest website (not the Newark Museum one) has been compromised by porn hackers.
Please avoid it until I give the all clear.
Bruce
All sorted now. Bruce, you have mail! 🙂
