FWIW I passed easily when I took the test a couple months ago when the story first surfaced, but that’s more due to me having an interest in politics and the like, rather than some absurd idea of me being “more British” than the other people in the thread.
These were basically engineered such that the average person would not get them, and the government could claim “the immigrants are more British than you”, since the immigrants would get higher scores due to studying for the tests. The very fact that natives score low on the tests proves what an inaccurate test it is! An accurate test, by definition, would be one in which the natives, without studying, would score very highly!
Here are a few good questions…

Don’t really see the point. I’m not hugely bothered either way, as long as the user whose name is being used is consulted.
It’s completely feasible, actually it’s been feasible for quite a long time. The only problem is you get some lag with satcoms, but other than that it’s nothing groundbreaking really. The cutting edge work at the moment is in algorithms to automate the aircraft, traffic avoidance, target identification and things like that.

I don’t think it has much to do with taxation, there are much easier ways to raise the £13 billion, or better still, spend £13 billion less! No, I think this has more to do with the chance to fit a tracking unit to every car, which will of course log everwhere you go, but as innocent people I’m sure you won’t mind the government watching you? 😉
A vision of the future… I wonder if they will issue automatic fixed penalty tickets everytime your vehicle drifts over the speed limit, or if your phone (also being tracked by the government along with your internet connection) is activated whilst your vehicle is moving? 😎

Watching the takeoffs you cant help but notice the deck crew waving casually at the -35B as it takes off past them about 40ft away. The camera does seem to have missed them getting blown overboard!. The camera also failed to show paint blackening and being scorched off the deck despite repeated shots of the nozzle pointing straight down!. Funny that isnt it?.
I don’t think anyone said it would burn to a crisp on first attempt. However it could do far more damage, far faster, than was the case with the Harrier. For us to be ignorant about such issues could lead to big expensive mistakes like needing to fix warped carrier decks!
The QE are going to use the Artisan 3D radar, so maybe they are talking about a different purpose radar from the US?

I have given you good reason, I am not responding to your childish flame baits. I have at all points tried to be polite and reasonable, I have apologised more then once and all I have received is rudeness and insults for example:
The grown up thing to do is ignore you, if you are happy behaving like a troll and have nothing dignified to say I think we are done.
All yes, calling me a troll and a flamer because you can’t back up your claims with a shred of evidence. It’s also quite funny how you call me childish whilst hurling insults at me 😀
Due to your lack of proof, and my substantial proof, balance would have to conclude that the UCAVs datalinks are likely to be able to maintain minimum capability during jamming attacks using todays jamming tech.
What I like about the F-35, is that if you ever have a carrier unavailable, you could possibly (and this would give a low sortie rate and would be far from ideal).
Plate up the deck of a tanker, RO-RO or container ship with a ski jump up the front and using containers down the back for maintanence etc. If there is enough time, a basic hanger system could possible be devised either with an elevator or even using ramps to move aircraft?
Couldn’t set up an aircraft lift. A shelter would be easy to do. Below deck would be useful for stores and people. Fuel supplies would be short. Taking off depends on the length of the ship. The biggest problem is the lack of damage control, so you’d be taking a massive gamble with the crews lives.
We’ve lost, or never had, a lot of them actually. Just a few examples:
No freedom of speech -> Anything deemed “racially offensive” can be arrested for!
No right to not self-incriminate -> Notice of intended prosecution (traffic tickets) you must give the details of the driver, even if the driver is you! If you have an encrypted computer file (or any computer file the police don’t understand!) you must give it to them in a form they do understand. The latter is particularly concerning as it carries a jail term, and just about anything (including deleted data!!!) can be claimed to be “encrypted” and it would be an uphill battle to prove it isnt.
No right to privacy -> Internet monitoring laws upcoming
I understand the “Sun” newspaper, got a JCB driver, who is working on the Stadium, to have a lunchbox that had dummy bomb making gear in it to take it in and out of the Stadium several times a day after his first security check at the start of the day. He was not checked anymore despite going in and out willy nilly.
As I stated in another thread, I stated I.M.O. any attack would be at ground level, not from the air.
Talk about giving terrorists ideas,Jim.

Can’t really fault the police there. To expect them to search everything going in is just plain unreasonable. I’d guess it makes a good story though.

What’s the point of having aircraft carrier in the middle of London?
Looks like easy target.
Or is it only there as a tourist attraction?
Good place to land helicopters. Airports will be busy with fixed wing aircraft. It would be good for special forces, but I’d guess its more to do with helping casualties in the event anything does go wrong!
