@Tay
Good day, nice pint! And, lol, I was merely responding in kind to the earlier statements by some French of similar sentiment 😉
@Witcha
We don’t know how much the aircraft are being offered for, so we can’t really say for sure what the relevance of the price is. We can guess the prices based on other deals, but they are still just guesses.
Wow much better than the Eurofighter magazine. Just showing your strengths and not talking crap about your rivals.
How many modules ?
Oh, the French won’t accept that picture as being representative of the real RBE2-AA radar as it doesn’t contain enough modules. It contains 874 modules BTW, which IMO is realistic.
You can’t extrapolate growth figures like that over decades. Anything could happen to those rates over that length of time.
And insurers.
And insurers.
@Swerve
The ship in the video does appear to be quite large

The Asters are also very expensive and lacking in UK workshare. As for the MoD and gold plating projects, this is well known in the industry.
Why are you surprised? It’s exercise in screwing you over, and they are doing very well at it.

@Frosty
Because thats the case with most MoD projects, lots of bespoke extras, but light on the things that really matter. As for the things you list, we shall have to see how they develop. If CAAM turns out anything like PAAMS for example…
@giganick1
So it makes the senior officers look less incompetent when they ask “where the hell is it”? 😉
Even “weak” evidence wins by default against no evidence at all 😉
And you’ve provided no evidence, so I win? Great 😎
It’s an interesting naming choice too
HMS Broadsword
HMS Brown
HMS Iron Duke
HMS Kahn
HMS Patil
HMS Salmond
HMS Singh
It looks just as I suspected it would! A big ship with not many weapons, but lots and lots of pointless gadgets to keep senior staff employed in project teams at the MoD. How many billion per ship?
And of course, it is likely the Scottish will keep their yards, whilst the English will lose theirs, all at the English taxpayers expense, as is usual.
Of course Dassault stand to gain twice if they win this, first they get to finally shift some Rafale, and secondly they can make money selling on the remanufactured Mirage 2000s to other countries.
@Trident
You claim its in a magazine, but refuse to give me sufficiently accurate information to verify the claim. It’s hardly reasonable to expect me to trawl through every page of every magazine for a whole year to verify you claim, especially when I gave a direct link to my evidence.
@Sintra
I’m not interested in whether the photo is true or not, what I’m interested in is a specific source for it (publication, date, and page number!).
@jwcook
Indeed, it’s a fighter jet not a handbag
