i heard this on five live. The only useful thing was that we were told by Nic Pope that Taranis is only the public face of what is possible….
I can’t believe how jaded jo public are these days….
It’s an interesting point. There is a lot of evidence showing aliens and UFOs do exist. But, the technology we see does not reflect this same technology seen in UFOs. It’s easy for people to say “the government” has a secret programme for alien tech, but this programme will require people, and a fair few of them, which doesn’t seem to be the case. The other factor is that the rewards to be gained from these UFOs would be huge, and so surely every country would be working on reverse engineering them rather than just the USA!
The thing that worries me most is both Countries are Nuclear Powers!
Rumour has it the Pakistani nukes are in the control of a fairly sane general. Not sure about the situation with the Indian nukes.
I doubt the Indian forces have any more professionalism than the Pakistani forces. I see them as both being at around the same level broadly speaking.
It’s always easy for one side to come here and present one sided evidence, then draw conclusions based on that alone. It doesn’t prove anything.
I take it the Barge is one of the semi-submersible efforts, that take in half the North Sea as Ballast to lower the platform deck (Sorry I’m not very Nautical with terminology) into the water and allow the section to float off ?
I’d guess they would use what they used for this current block, which is a ship, the AMT Trader. If you look up a few posts at the one by 90infirst he has some links to pictures of it 🙂
The front panel is really ugly!
Also, no weapons?
I have reservations about JCA myself but I think that you are being a little trite (funny but trite) with that one.
The last WAR we were in was WWII. We have certainly attacked targets overseas (and often with strong justification) but not when said targets have threatened the British Isles militarily. That distinction is not just a matter of semantics; any foe which could strike the British Isles is going to be a genuine peer opponent and one aganst whom VLO might actually be vital.
Such an expensive warplane is not really ideal for attrition warfare 😎
did i say that we didnt have a first day strike capability? ermm no i think i did. if you read what i wrote i stated that i think the RAF want the first strike ability it offers. ie improvements over what current systems offer stealth and top notch EW suites ect.. so you can roll your eyes in another direction please.
So you admit it doesn’t provide any difference in the capability to strike on the first day then. Just to make sure we are all agreed on that, since I wouldn’t want there to be any misunderstandings ;). As for my eyes, they roll where they wish, we like in a supposedly free society, and my eyes are entitled to their three degrees of freedom 😎
it may well be a blessing in disguise, forcing the gov to buy SH for the navy and a number of F35A for the RAF (i believe they want the first day ability it offers)
One does wonder how the UK has ever fought wars if it wasn’t able to attack on the first day, due to lack of the F35, which as we all know is the only aircraft capable of attacking on the first day
A hybrid/compromise. Not to put it down, but thats what it is.
So one or two cats is a compromise, three is a “real carrier”. LOL 😀
Well actually it’s more like 6+ cats and it’s a real carrier, everything else is a compromise 😎
Give it a year and they’ll be putting adverts in the TV because their people are starving or don’t have any water.
As it always should be, a carrier is after all nothing more than a floating airbase for forward based assets, whichever assets are most suited to the task at hand are what should be aboard.
Of course to do that it always helps to have said assets!
Harder to believe we stuff all Transport and tankers into 1 airfield with 1 runway. Standby for a very busy circuit.
Paul
and very risky
are you sure? even after Obama’s administration is done with it? 😉
I’ve read it could be 2 or 3 CVs for the axe?
Is it true that the so-called “Rivet Joint” aircraft is part of a deal whereby we get a pile of junk not up to the job for cheap. We also have to hand over our best spy-ware to the Yanks AND train their personnel on its use into the bargain?
Surely, this is just rumours? Isnt it?
If not this would be a national scandal of epic proportions.
You used the words “bargain” and “cheap”, and this programme is neither. The rest is about right though 🙂
Maybe it’s some kind of heat reflective paint, or perhaps just a lighter colour 🙂
Nope, got work to do!
Unfortunately I am going with a buddy from pretty much the opposite direction. Make sure you dress appropriately. I think its going to be quite wet.
It’s fairly close from Bristol, assuming you haven’t gone home after uni 🙂
