Re: TFC evening, not to mention a riveting talk by a certain Mr Henshaw, a brief transcript of which is in the current edition of Fighter Log, available to all members of Friends of TFC. If you missed the talk it is well worth taking the opportunity to catch up on a fascinating piece of our history and a true legend.

“-They are doing a story about warbird insurance.
-One reason why rates are so high is the number of crashes…and their potential liability.

–Therefore you show a crash. Fairly simple really”

Thanks that was what I meant to say but cocked up.

End of issue really. Lets get back to what is still flying.

Guess you weill all shoot me down.

    Anyway

TV company needs to illustrate what happens when “old a/c crashes. Database provides link to firefly crash.

You/We feel personal affiliation and aggrieved.

    BUT

BBC have just done similar with Bali bombings and I daresay next Christmas we will all be inundated with tsnami (sp?)

It may well be distressing to have such an incident relived but the tv company is simply illustrating the facts (in this case) It ain’t no different to police , camera , action or any number of programmes of that ilk.

Yes my sympathy is with those involved as with the other events publicised but that is the way the media works,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Funny how things go. I found a picture I tok ogf this a/c taxying at DX many years ago. Probably in the hands of Don Selway. When I work out how, I’ll post the photo. Just a reminder of the condition it was in a few years ago really………….

Any one else remember the drone of Varsities out of Oakington?

!Im not trying to be rude but Duxford is running out of space fast. as ive said before why not try to get a team together to do something about it. i feel it would be an enjoyable experience.!

“i want to but cannot undertake it alone also would need permission from the IWM.”

These are the last two quotes from Stuart – I am confused any one else able to help?

“I’d say the you lose control of a plane when it is no longer doing what you intended for it to do and you have to wait for the altitude/airspeed exchange to get you out of the hole you’ve dug. All the while, hoping that you have the altitude and space around you to save yourself.. I think it’s pretty obvious that that was the case in the video.”

Actually there are two procedures described here. Losing control and regaining control. The latter is not neccessarily linked to the former. Quite an important fact if you think about it.

Trouble is , it is a risk assessment value and someone has plugged the wrong factors in. Until the right factors are input you will not get the correct risk level as far as the instigators of the current ruling are concerned. (Someone may have to admit they made a tiny sort of whoopsie in assessing these factors initially which would also be difficult).

Bit like politics really isn’t it?

    That is what worried me.

What would be useful would be to get the facts as to whether this is an EU or GB related problem. Once you know who is the enemy you can make a plan, then you can call…. the “A” team! However you do need facts first.

Then we can vote Avros Finest as next pm.

I’m with Avro’s finest and Cargomaster on this one, until evidence proves otherwise.

Somewhat confused by scoring system for this series.

“In which we serve” and “Colditz “ranked lower than Rambo!

Sobering German and Russian contributions on saturday though.

Probably make a final comment after 12:30
