Looks awful. Does not work on the most basic of levels (cannot even get a break between paras). Come on, whoever implemented this system, start learning how to do a job properly. I’ve been a software developer for decades. Don’t recall seeing anything as poorly tested as this. IF YOU HAVE NOT CHECKED THAT IT WORKS, DON’T UPGRADE TO IT !!!!!!!

I don’t see myself using this forum much with this kind of layout.
PS The above is a quote but the square brackets quote … /quote command does not seem to be recognised any more
As far as I can make out from the time stamps, only one or two people are now posting each day so you are not on your own.
Correct me if I’m wrong but It seems to me that the number of posts on this forum has …er… plummeted.
I’m not sure that I can offer any constructive crticism except to echo at least one other contributor – appearance needs tweaking a lot. I think a dated appearance has been swapped for something rather crude in appearance. Bit of refining required, methinks. OK, suggest looking hard at font sizes (too big IMO), use of bold and italics (too prevalent IMO) et al
BAE Systems—the leading member of the Team Tempest consortium, which includes Leonardo, MBDA and Rolls-Royce—has begun looking at new manufacturing techniques and technology that will not only apply to work on Tempest but potentially also to existing programs such as the Eurofighter Typhoon and Lockheed Martin F-35 as well.
Current manufacturing processes, such as drilling 150,000 holes in and around the fuselage and wings of the BAE Systems Hawk jet trainer or the Typhoon’s moving production line, are too slow for what is envisaged for Tempest, said Andrew Schofield, BAE’s director of manufacturing and materials, speaking earlier in August.
He said future production methods will need to be leaner and more productive.
“When you take the length of time from concept [to] bringing Typhoon [into] service, we are looking to halve that time across the whole organization,” said Schofield.

Encouraging to read. Sticking things together more competitively might make the difference between the project going ahead or folding.

Sounds like a lot of work compared to just flying it it there. Gripens take part in Red Flag so it’s not unusual for them to cross the atlantic.
Does USAF refuel them mid-Atlantic because they are attending an exercise in USA or do they go via (I guess) Iceland?
SP-26 forward fuselage on the assembly line. That would be the 6th FOC Tejas Mk1. First one (SP-21) should be rolled out by this year end.
So completion of the first FOC aircraft will be late. It was going to be end September, wasn’t it? I recall this was foreseen due to the usual overdue decision making, something beyond HAL’s control. Will HAL be able to catch up so that the last of the batch of 20 will be completed on time, I wonder.
Does anyone know the status of the Mk1A contract?

Fly there? It’s not like the Gripen can’t cross the Atlantic…
Well I agree it can fly across the Atlantic (quoted ferry range of 4000Km) but it can’t do Sweden-Brazil without refuelling, so I wondered what route it would take.
Saab Presents First Gripen E to Brazil
I wonder how it will get to Brazil. Sweden is a long way from Brazil.
France will be in charge of the infrared systems, Japan will be in charge of the electronics. So which European country would be the best at making good aircraft engines that offer good ranges and speed?
I think RR is the most capable in Europe but the engine would be made by a consortium alomg the lines of Eurojet, wouldn’t it?
