Starjet, you didn’t ask the El Al crew for a pork pie did you?
The last 320 (G-TCKE) is UK based and floats (like all our aircraft do) between the 320 bases (LGW, STN and EMA). The ‘bigger picture’ varies according to which way the wind is blowing combined with the angle of the sun! Last week it was ‘lets replace all Airbus with more 757 and 767’, this week it’s ‘let’s leave the fleet exactly as it is’.
If they get it I bet they will start it with the Saabs before fairly soon using ATRs and then binning the Sheds.
The plain fact is that a charter airline really needs a mix of 757 amd A320 in order to achieve the required performance and passenger load carrying requirements which is why everyone except Britannia uses both. Britannia flirted with the 737NG but quicly sent them elsewhere as they weren’t as good as they hoped.
By the way, expect to see Thomas Cook Belgium replace 2 A320s with 2 ex-Condor 757s soon. This is not fleet renewal, just flexibility as I mentioned above.
Subject to my working roster I’d love to come.
Ren, I was on standby that day but didn’t get called so no it wasn’t me.
Could that Corsair 767 have still been Britannia’s while doing the Hadj for Garuda, then operating for BY, then sent over to Corsair (possibly another part of TUI?).
We need Skypilot62 for this one. Although the ATP is bigger than the Saab it is an absolute dog in comparison.

The way Ryanair taxi I’m hardly surprised!
Damn it, I can’t even say anything about the TriStar at work either for fear of upsetting people!!! No seriously, it was a good but overcomplex aeroplane in its day, however its day has been and gone.
This argument is usually due to the word ‘International’. Several US airports have many more movements than LHR but a 2 hour flight from a US airport is prbably domestic whereas any 2 hour flight from LHR is international. As the UK is tiny compared to the US it has a much higher percentage of international departures which is how it claims to be the worlds largest international airport rather than the worlds largest airport.
That would only be a recommendation. Obviously safety is the controlling factor. I always only use reverse idle (unless more required for specific reasons) if it is likely to disturb locals sleeping. In the same way I generally try to delay gear selection on approach at night because the extra drag requires more engine thrust which is antisocial. We’re not all noisy hooligans!
Just an occasionally used colloquialism such as the follow up MoreDeath 11 and the rival Lockheed DeathStar.
It’s a list of all operators who have ever operated the Death Cruiser 10.
Skypilot62, I’m 757-200/300 TCX@LGW. Whiskey Delta is also ERJ145 (and Beech 1900 before that) in the States. Are you able to divulge where you are looking at heading to? I’ve currently got an opportunity to go long haul freight onthe B744 with a quick command but am in 2 minds as to whether I want the long haul lifestyle again.
