I have spent a minute trying to translate that and I’m still absolutely none the wiser!

If any of you have watched any flight crew documentarys, they tell you how they use the vacumm sinks and go to the toilet but block the fire detector to have a smoke, cuz they dont just have to bear one flight its all the time for them
Sackable offence in any company I’ve worked for and quite rightly so. I wouldn’t knowingly let any of my colleagues do it either.
Including me for a few days next month!!!
What did you fly for Loganair, Moondance?
It was pretty awful for non-smoking pilots as smokers would just light up on the flightdeck. It also seemed that just about every flight engineer used to smoke as well. Most company ops manuals now preclude flightdeck smoking, in line with the cabin.
MCO appeals to people who like glitz even if it takes gawd knows how long to get through the system! LBArules brings up a very good point wrt the baggage loaders refusing to work during the frequent thunderstorms. We routinely used to get up to an hours delay for our bags which after a 9 hour flight wasn’t much fun. MCO is almost as much of a theme park experience as Disney! The holiday makers must find the post flight delays tedious but I dread to think how it must pee off the business passengers!
Interestingly enough I was having lunch with SkyCruiser yesterday (he was on a LHR layover) and a friend of his joined us who is an ex-BA now EAL B742 skipper. He was saying he would rather operate into Sanford rather than MCO anyday. ‘Much better airport’ were his words.
The statement about the charters being in a different terminal to Virgin is not correct. You would invariably see Caledonian aircraft parked next door to Virgin aircraft in the early 90’s.
As a further point of interest MCO also suffers more from ‘PPL wants to play with the big boys’ syndrome. An awful lot of UK PPL’s travel to Florida for hours building during which they take advantage of the freedom to fly their spamcans into international airports at little or no cost. MCO is the local Mecca for these guys which can make operating commercial aircraft into there a pain in the ar5e.
Adrian – I know there is a lot of bad feeling at the moment about the States tactics with Aurigny but this Flybe attitude just stinks. They show no dedication to the islands, just themselves.
One of these days I’m going to get myself a staff travel ticket and go to Barra and do the Islander hop from Westray to Papa Westray.
Moondance – have you ever worked for Loganair?
I have the individual flight numbers here but I’ll save posting them until just before in case of roster changes.

But your friends would not know what the comparison is on board a virgin flight as they only fly on BA flights and are around BA customers. 😉 😎
I have friends who have worked for both (as well as other carriers).
I’ve got 2 GLA tours next month, 4-6th and 10-14th.

if you fly BA for examle you see that their standard of customers is much higher
No reason why they should be any different to the Virgin Orlando passengers. I shall check with my BA cabin crew friends and let you know.
Back up that statement please Florida Gude. What are the figures?
I was a bit surprised Kev didn’t suss that one out himself.
The MYT aircraft is an A321 and the Saab 340 belongs to Aurigny.
I used to operate into MCO with Virgin. If the typical Virgin Orlando passenger is supposed to be of a higher standard I dread to think what schmucks we are taking to Sanford!
An Orlando passenger is an Orlando passenger whether they fly to MCO or Sanford. They either have a hoard of kids and had no choice in where the holiday was taken or they weren’t bright enough to realise there are better holiday locations elsewhere (eg Miami, Tampa, etc).
