It would be an interesting exercise to find out the ticket cost and then see what it would work out to today when modified for inflation, etc.

…but you’re never going to get a charter slot into Heathrow, it’s just too scheduled up.

Some fantastic photos WD. I have been known to state how ugly the B1900D is before but I guess I’ll have to hold my tongue now! Can you give us an insight into all the aerodynamic tricks on the Beech. There seem to be an awful lot of strakes, etc.

I’ve always been told to refer to the currently Greel region with a hard C and the new region with a soft C, eg Macedonia and (phonetically) Makadonia.

Can anyone confim about the scud crash in Corfu a few years ago?

The perceived ‘low quality’ in the charters and low costs is brought about the the travelling public desiring the lowest possible price for their travel.
If you compare the cost of a package holiday several years ago as a percentage of the average salary to the cost of a holiday today you can see why the frills are no longer present. The change is not airline driven but consumer driven. Unfortunately the biggest example of this is the low cost carriers with their dramatic rise to success because evreyone loves a bargain. In order to stay in the market everyone else has to lower their standards to compete. I don’t disagree with people using the low costs (I would, except for Ryanair!) but every time a seat is booked with these carriers it is contributing to the declining overall status of UK inflight service.

You pays your money and you takes your choice.

Perhaps not from the passengers perspective but from the airline employees point of view the low cost carriers are butchering employment terms and conditions. Now the trend thay have started is spreading to the higher quality operators.

Most Danair 1-11 pilots had a sticker on their flight bags saying ‘Loud but proud’!

I used to stop frequently in Various hotels in the Marine Del Rey area and it is too far north to be good for viewing.

I should think there’ll be a second TCX 757 next season.

Sorry to deviate slightly but I’m getting a bit bored with using the wysiwyg monicker and am considering going to my pseudonym that I use on motorbike forums which is Pondlife. What do you think?
