Saturday now and I’m in LA. I got some stunning pictures of glaciers in Greenland on the way over which I’ll post when I get back to Blighty.

We are contracted to do 750 hours a year, which if you knock off a month for leave means that we must average about 67-68 hours a month.

Apparantly now this is going to be an Airbus operation (A330 and A320) rather than the original Boeing plan (B767 and B737).

Competition…excellent! There are going to be some really impressive aircraft on the market at the end of this decade!

It’s funny how 2 airlines can utilise their aircraft in such opposite ways! You’re right in saying that a sidestick is not the definitive of being up to date but if you try them both you’ll see what I mean.

Flying up A25 in the Saab was my favourite view. on a clear day the views of Devon, the Bristol channel and all of Wales were simply spectacular.

A mate sent me a quote from Branson just now saying that It will be crewed by existing Virgin Atlantic pilots. I find myself in the most wonderful career choice situation…do I want to continue where I am, fly A380’s or crew the first passenger space service!!! This is one of many reasons why working for VS is so exciting!
