Wrong Aircraft!!!!!
Thats not XP706, thats F6 XS897 which is now at RAF Coningsby (She also sports an F1/2/3 tank now as she is being worked on to represent an F3 of No.29 Sqn)
Here is XP706 as she is today:

Each one of the photo’s in that link show Hemp as the colour!
http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/pics/gulfwar/gwvictors.htm
Still red does tend to bleach out and the main thing is it does look a lot better protected, but to try and b*****t people that it is the correct colour ie ermmmm dubious, some primers used are pink in colour.
Still a bit of a cockup, as for the Pinky and Perky Tristars it was a temp paint and was designed to wash off….. There was also a VC10 shoved into it, but that was the ex Gulf Air none flier that was painted during an exercise to see how long it would take and then removed.
I totally agree but at least she is now more protected from the British weather..
What utter tripe! I saw every Victor coming back from the Gulf and every single one was in Hemp.
I’ve just contacted one of the main guys at NEAM and they are very very interested. PM me any details that you want passing on. Regards, Phil.
TSR2 NOSECONE
I can tell you who would have that straight away… The North East Aircraft Museum need one to finish of the TSR2 radar trials Meteor NF11/12 WD790. It might even be the one taken off her when she was broken up at RAF Leeming…

and in a correct shade of HEMP and not PINK :D:D
Phantom to move home…?
I’d love to see the Manston F4J end up back at Wattisham as it would be the last one left marked up in RAF markings (Duxfords being US marked now). There was rumours of RAF Brampton closing it’s doors a couple of years back. Could you not go for XT914, one of the Phantom display aircraft from 1992?? There are still options out there!!
Why not try and obtain a Phantom next 😉
The ‘Brick’ is looking great! How long will it be before we see three of these beasts growling under their own power at Brunty?
More Photo’s Please!
Great pics BUT…… No pictures of Sea Vixen, F-104’s, Nimrod, Hunter etc etc??
I thought our own G-BOAF at Filton was a good candidate for flight again??
If you look, only two appear to be full aircraft, the rest being cockpits…
Blimey, loads, so that’s an F.2 that ruins my view here at St Athan!

Any pictures of Paul Morgan’s Sea Fury??
I think that picture is possibly XS922 which was flown to RAF Wattisham for BDRT and later broken up in 1991/1992 along with the last Phantom’s…
