    607 RauxAF

    Hi there,

Yes, ‘N’ was WH225 and ‘R’ was VW439. 607 had four Meetbox T7’s but only two at any one time. WF833 was one but still don’t have a code for her…??

Thanks for the photo’s, much appreciated…

    Phil.

Cheers for that but is there no JP nuts out there who can supply some shots of her in her earlier days also?? The reason I ask is I am researching her history to put her back in an early scheme which you don’t really see on any aviation museum aircraft…

    XL620 & XL605

Sadly XL620 is now just a nose section on the fire dump at Guernsey Airport…. XL605, her sister-ship from 66 Sqn is now being prepared to fly once again down Exeter. Would be nice if they paint her up in 66 Sqn colours!!!

    Errol’s Aircraft??

Does anyone know of the current status of the ex military airframes that are/were at Errol? The Gannet looked to be in pretty bad shape last time I seen her on photo’s!!

    Hi there,

If TEXANTOMCAT cannot help try Martin Slater at CFS Aeroproducts, Coventry Airport (Part of the Atlantic Group). He deals with many classic props including the P51…

    Hi there,

As far as I know she is still operating with Embrear.

Might be worth calling someone else at the same company??

I am surprised you think this isn’t covered well. I assume you are aware of Action Stations 7 by David J Smith, Airfields of North-East England in the Second World War by Martyn Chorlton, Milfield, not just an airfield… by Alan Evans and Northumberland Aviation Diary (and its supplement) by Derek Walton. There are undoubtedly other books, but these are just a few I’m aware of.

Incidentally, Charterhall is in Berwickshire (ie Scotland), not Northumberland (ie England) and has already been covered in two different editions of The Charterhall Story by Jack Thompson.

I do have these books but I still think that there has not been many photo’s published on this area compared with the rest of the UK, It would be great to see a lot more!!!
