Eureka!
I think it’s the air scout day tomorrow at Biggin! I know that the Lanc is displaying. I wonder if the Spit is anything to do with that.
Paul
Nope. The Spit had nothing to do with the Air Scouts. It was a private event for some corporate firm. They had a load of Jeeps “chauffeur” the execs from the White Hart in Brasted to Big-Gin for the presentation then The Grace Spitfire did an eight minute solo display.
So, it was Carolyn Grace grace. And it was graceful. I burnt the dinner watching that display. 😀

Think the lanc is doing a flypast. Just flew over the house is one off the Headcorn Based Tiger Moths owned by the Tiger Club.

The “Phantom” flew over at around 6pm last night. I ran down the road to get a better view but heard or saw nothing again. I went back home and was busying myself around the house when I heard that distinctive roar. I decided to admit defeat and watched the Lanc do a few nice passes over Biggin.

What’s the actual town of Scampton like? If it’s still got that period look the film makers may be using the town for exteriors when the characters are off base.

Treated to a nice bit of aerobatics bit a Spitfire with invasion stripes. I did think it was the Kent Spitfire but now I’m not so sure as the pictures I’ve seen of it don’t have invasion stripes. Unless it’s had a makeover. 😀

I’m glad to see Miss Helen back in the sky.

To be honest if they planned doing all interior and exterior lanc filming on one day then it sounds a little low budget. Hope not.
The film is only around 30 minutes long. They filmed the “flying” sequence inside the hangar using some blue screen technology. I could be mistaken as I was outside with the second unit who were filming pick up shots of ground crew and base personnel.
Looks like a small budget indy film. I doubt therefore CGI will be involved, which will keep this thread quiet 😉
An Indy flick it is. But I reckon there will be CGI but nothing too over the top… merely stars, flak and searchlights among other things, I would have thought.
The film makers will know more. Has anyone e-mailed them?
Most of the interiors were shot on a Sunday in late June at East Kirkby. Weather held up a bit of the production as the exteriors were supposed to be shot on that day too. I’ve been told that they intend on coming back to do the exteriors soon.
Vulcanitious do? 😀 Bex
Rock-a-doodle-doo, matey! That’s a Vulcanmungus name for an affliction.
Lovely stuff!

Well done to everyone involved. Splendid!
My first non commercial flight was two weeks ago in a Piper Warrior G-BUIK.
The BBMF has just landed at Biggin.
Oh yeah. I did use it a lot. Oops. Sorry about that. Shall I edit it? I supposed I’d better.
Sorry about that.
Okay, I’m editing this as I wrote it as if I owned TFC. Sorry to anyone who took offence.
I thought No Guts was a lovely sight around our air show circuit. As were all the other warbirds flying in the UK.
For the people that can’t understand why TFC sold her for one that’s not yet assembled and flying let’s just remind ourselves that our friends across the pond have the exact same situation. NGNG is hopefully over in Chino now… in a crate. I’ve seen pictures of Little Demon,on the TFC website, out of the crate.
Everyone wants it to be put together as fast as a LEGO kit but we (as a whole) don’t want anything going wrong. More haste less speed (although haste means to do something quickly so the phrase seems to cancel itself out). TFC can’t rebuild it like a LEGO kit if something, God forbid, goes wrong.
We can watch plenty of planes out there while the masses wait for it’s debut. Consider it a cracking support band at gig.
How’s that sound?
