LS326, I believe, went white over the winter of 1986/7.
Very nice pix. Good to see 326 with those rockets underneath the wings 🙂
I think they are still hoping for a late May/early June arrival here in the UK.
The weather made the exits and entrances like a skid pan earlier in the day.
A couple on their motorbike fell off as the machine lost grip on the tracks and toppled over. The passenger escaped injury but her husband ended up underneath the Yamaha and with an very serious broken leg.
Not nice. 🙁
That’s the beast! Thanks Gareth 🙂
Very nice 🙂
Did any of you guys snap the red/white JP?
Superb pix of TF956 and WG655 Andy. Many thanks for taking the time to scan and share them.
Some people seem to think that TF956 was just dumped in the sea within minutes of its undercarriage leg locking down. Yet John Beattie tried for over two and an half hours to try and get the aircraft back down on the ground safely.
Also, in between his po-going, a British Airways 747 made an emergency landing at Prestwick due to fire caption in the cargo hold 🙂

Paul,
Is there a Hover show or something similiar held at Lee-on-Solent every so often?
I seem to recall an event advertised a couple of years ago, but cannot remember where.

The Navy Gannets were retired in 1978 but it wasn’t until 1982 that the first AEW Sea King flew.
Looking in Wrecks and Relics, the Hunter F.1 was WT694. It is now on display in the Caernarfon(?) Museum.
The Hunter is the famous G-HUNT, ex-Danish Hunter F50 E-418.
Does that Vampire still survive today I wonder?
I was told that previously that Lindsay Walton retired from display work due to health problems a few years ago.
Is the Spitfire XVIII at Duxford up for sale?
Perhaps a swap could be negotiated 😉
Outstanding clips! Thanks for taking the time to get them up.

At least three of the nose sections survive.
One is with Mick Jennings at Coltishall (XS899?), another, a two seater, is at Bruntingthorpe. F.6 XS898(?) cockpit is with a private owner in the Buckinghamshire area.
Not sure on the third F6.
HTH,

You can still go into the Sandringham, but not sure whether you are allowed in the cockpit. I remember being the C/O of the aircraft 15 years ago at the age of 7 🙂
