Alexis, F6A XF516 has been booked for this show, it’s going back ‘home’ to Coventry.

Thanks Steve – I have PMed you my e-mail address.

I believe all the Hunters were acquired by Mark as he intended to put together a display team. This was around 1998 before the Breitling Fighters were formed.
However with Mark’s sad death they all were gradually mothballed and went into storage at Scampton.
Some are now gradually coming out of hibernation with Hawker Hunter Aviation.

The Matadors are a superb two ship aerobatics team, made up of Paul Bonhomme (TFC Spit and Bearcat master) and Steve Jones.

I do believe it was part of the RAF reserve collection at Henlow before its move to Wiltshire.

With regards to the Lyneham Comet I understand that this is owned by the RAF Museum, and is on loan to RAF Lyneham.

I think Filton, Bruntingthorpe and Cosford are all good shouts for three of them, but don’t BAE have an incomplete one already?
M
Agreed – $50,000 USD seems a bit strong, especially for a single seater.

The event will be marked by HFC with their pointed-nose WB188.
I will see what I can find out about the plans for the day itself, but I’m sure it will include Tangmere on its flightplan.
Neville Duke is still alive and well.

Miss D
Miss Demeanour will be airworthy and flying at some shows this year!

The Hawker Fury is still based at Kemble and available for sale as far as I know.
I believe the RNHF have sorted out the minor problems that have dogged the Firefly.
It, along with Stringbag I W5856 will shortly be emerging from their winter maintenance schedules to get ready for the season.
Hope this helps.
Mark
As mentioned as avi8.com sadly Hugh is not longer alive, but I will see if I can find out on the whereabouts of Duncan Simpson, David Lockspeiser and Frank Bullen.
M
The RNHF machine’s Centaurus is currently in the final stages of reassembly, and it is hoped to have it plumbed up in time for the latter half of the season.
The RNHF Sea Hawk is booked for Kemble’s Classic Jet airshow serviceability permitting.

Vixen
If you would prefer the Vixen painted in 890 or 899 Sqn colours then write a cheque out to DHA for £25,000-£30000.
Of course I’d like to see it in Navy ‘uniform’ but if I had that amount of money to spend on the aircraft I would put it towards keeping it serviceable and airworthy.
M
ummmmmmm Sea Fury…………………………
