As Britain commemorates the Recapture of the Falkland islands it is time we should remember all those who were killed, injured and those who are still suffering there injuries to this day, Lets also take some time to think of all our men and women that are in conflicts and humanitarian missions accross the world.
We salute you all.
Hear Hear couldnt have said it better myself, thanks Martin…… Bex
I’ll listen to anything, dependant on my mood. Good moods mean anything from the 50’s upto about the 90’s, Country music and for a good old bad mood nothing beats a bit of Iron Maiden & Guns n Roses. However, my all time favourite has to be this: Massed Corps of Drums of the British Armed Forces. I still play my Tenor Drum for my Old Farts Association. Bex

If you find the deliberate degradation, belittling and downright bullying of anyone on the grounds of their gender, race, religion or sexuality to be amusing, then perhaps you should reconsider your values, especially in light of the multicultural society in which you live?
Unless of course you’re a fully paid up member of the BNP or Combat 18 et al.

As a youngster from the North I grew up on Manning, but as I grew older his “Comedy” seemed less funny. That kind of humour is even more less funny when you loose your job because of people that have views like his so called comedy coz youre different. Kev you forgot one organization at the end, The Railways. Bex

No they finish in 2 weeks at Cosford..
6 Sqn finishes then too.
They will not go to Waddo or any other airshow..
Sorry all, not our doing…
What a waste, the idiots in charge could at least let u guys & gals have 1 play day before shutting down…… Oh Al, is the Sqn Standard going into the dome at Cranwell with the others? Bex
WOW, big difference and looking very good. When I get chance I intend to get my Canberra overdosed backside over to see Charlie Fox and I’ll let u know when Im on way if thats ok? Bex
Damien & Doughnut, cracking photos guys, thanks for sharing. Al, totally amazing design and a credit to you, your team and the Squadron. Looks to me like 6 Sqn doesnt wanna go quietly…….. Well PLEASE DONT :diablo: Bex
Jon, shes a bit of a mess. Thanks for sharing those photos. 1 question, as Ive never been on or seen inside a Brittania, but are those original Britt seats or a Fire Brigade optional extra? Glad u got the panels out before she got any worse!! Bex
Funnily enough the only bit that currently falls fowl of H&S is the cockpit because there is a hole in the floor! Dont get me wrong she aint in teh best condition by any stretch but all things considered is doing well. If anyone is intrested I will post a few snaps
I think she last flew late 70’s/early 80’s.
Jon, if u wouldnt mind posting a few shots, that would be great. Bex
Here’s what happens when you get to 1/12 scale.
Absolute scale buffs will probably take offence at some of the minor liberties taken but the primary excercise here is to produce a flying model first and a scale model second.
I expect that I will be popping into the historical forum now and again with questions about this aircraft.
WOW, she looks amazing. Stuff the rivet counters, if they say anything detrimental about her just ask them to build their own and see if they can do any better :diablo: Would it be possible for you to do reular updates on your progress please? Also, theres a pretty good TSR2 thread knocking around on Historic at the moment with comments from a lot of people who worked on the real thing. Bex
pretty sure the intended replacement for the canberra was Tsr-2 bex, 🙂
for an example go to the history page of the below link 🙂http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/tsr2/index.html
also the wikipedia link
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TSR-2
for the life of me i cannot remember who told me about the TSR-1 and TSR-2 designations, it seems logical that the canberra would have been designated as TSR-1 if their planned replacement was TSR-2, otherwise i would have thought that the MoD would have called TSR-2, TSR-1 instead :diablo:
My bad, ty for the links, could have sworn Id been through Damiens site with a fine toothcomb LoL That’ll teach me. However, I should have written something else in this sentence “The early replacements were by Valiants, Victors & Vulcans”
the extra bit being this “to cover bombing roles, but in “EE Canberra by Roland Beamont & Canberra Operational Record by Robert Jackson” I can not find any reference to the Canberra being replaced by TSR2, also I can not find in either of these books the Canberra being referred to as a TSR1, and neither do I recall seeing it mentioned in Ken Delves book either”
However the is a pretty good photo on page 49 of Bee’s book of B2 WD937 with a Lightning F6 & TSR2 Prototype on the apron at Warton. Bex
The Canberra was originally designed as twin engined subsonic jet bomber to quickly replace ageing piston heavies and ive never come across any mention of it being referred to as TSR1. Besides it was designed & flown by 1949, a long time before TSR2 was dreamed up. The early replacements were by Valiants, Victors & Vulcans. However, Im sure Les would know :diablo: Bex

Flamin nutter springs to mind, specially with the turn to port, that could have been a brown trousers moment, albeit briefly……. Bex
